The problem is not the water. The issue is the man-eating sharks in the water. So the water is safe. It is the man-eating sharks that we must combat. So run along now, into the safe water, while you figure out how to combat the man-eating sharks.
@duncancltaylor@drewburrett I think the 'ex' is an issue. Education changes so quickly. Covid has changed schools. Current teachers are best placed to speak for what needs to happen on the ground. The fact there are 0 is very concerning indeed.
@junipergreens@mmcshane@Andrew29880519@EISUnion@S_A_Somerville It's more nuanced. Pay scale's been shortened by higher increases at bottom. Differentiated rises devalue expertise at the top (which aren't in line with inflation) & attract graduates for wrong reasons. Compare bottom scale to top & you'll see part of reason for retention crisis
@harryhastings@ScienceBlue1@EISUnion John, the attainment gap is literally the poverty gap. Poverty is a political choice. That's not on teachers. You're all barking up the wrong tree and I honestly despair.
We are very impressed by the wit and artistic talents of many of our members. #EISStrike Such a pathetic, divisive offer will never be acceptable to the EIS or to Scotland’s teachers. It's time for the Scottish Government and COSLA to #PayAttention
Our teachers want to be in the classroom, but have been forced into this #EISStrike by the inaction of the Scottish Government and COSLA who have refused to make any improvement to a pay offer that was roundly rejected by teachers three months ago. #PayAttention
•Only 8.4% of teachers -probationers- were offered 6.85%... & few of them get permanent jobs after that
•74% of teachers on the Main Grade Scale were offered 5%...again
•100% of Principal Teachers were offered 5%...again
•More than 1/2 of HTS & DHTs were offered less than 5%
Teachers at Graeme High in Falkirk say it's time for @COSLA and @scotgov to #PayAttention - Scotland’s teachers deserve a fair cost of living pay increase. Your last rehashed offer, averaging 5.07% for teachers, was an insult with inflation more than double that rate.
A strong and united front at St Ninian's HS, East Renfrewshire calling for Scottish Government to make a fair and improved offer to teachers. #EISStrike#PayAttention
