I am a disabled veteran who is rated SMC-T. We have applied for the care givers program 5 times and been denied countless times. I have a letter from a federal law judge that states I need a caregiver full time or I would be in a memory care nursing home. This decision is based on neurological testing and neuropsychiatric evaluation with known criteria.

Not some vague nonsense that quotes a regulation that says literally nothing. 38 usc 1720g a 2 c ii is the regulation that they quote to deny us. It says “a need for supervision or protection based on symptoms or residuals of neurological or other impairment or injury.” No clear explanation of what exactly that means or even the criteria that is used to judge it. The panel that makes the decisions doesn’t consist of higher level doctors and psychiatrists at least in my area.

Yet they tell us we don’t show 6 months of care from my wife. When we show up to VA appointments they don’t put that my wife is with me unless I force them too or how I wasn’t allowed in the VA for years because of masking regulations. Because I was under orders from neurologists not to wear one.

My wife quit her job to take care of me in 2016 and has been taking care of me continually since. Between her and my oldest daughter they make all of my meals, remind me to take my meds, remind me to go to bed, take a shower, wake up, keep an eye on me to make sure I am not having a time loss episode where I lose hours of time zoning out staring at a wall.

I am not able to self sustain in the community. I can’t cook my meals because I forget that I am cooking and I have caught my stove on fire several times. If I didn’t have my wife and children checking on me constantly I would lose 12 plus hours, forget taking my meds. I no longer feel hunger or thrist. At this point I truly don’t understand what we have to due in order to qualify for this program.

Video from Wellford, S.C. shows a suspected illegal migrant driver and a passenger escape from a white van after the vehicle hit a child on June 11. The suspect was found hiding in the attic of a home by police. The child is in an ICU.

Maybe you don't follow baseball, but there is a big controversy now because it was "Pride Night" in San Francisco the other night, the SF Giants' players were supposed to wear caps where the "SF" logo (normally in orange) was instead in rainbow colors, and several of the pitchers wrote Biblical verses on their hats next to the rainbow "SF."

Predictably, the SF crowd is apoplectic, labeling these players "bigots" and "homophobes."

Query: when your employer forces you to wear imagery that is abhorrent to your deeply-held, long-established religious beliefs, who is the "bigot"?

(And don't tell me "Well then they shouldn't be in MLB," because you are saying you must abandon your religion to work.)

It's the complaining LGBTQ+ crowd who are the "bigots" in this case.
