Surviving NYSC: A Story in Parts
Three weeks. One camp. A thousand strangers thrown together in the name of service. Some came prepared, some barely survived, and some? Well, they have stories to tell. This is mine.
Judgment🙂↔️
I know, I know😂what type of headline is that? I just felt like talking about it so yeah that's what I'll do today😌.
Most people don't like to be judged, but they sure love dishing out judgments.
Betrayal🫀
Sometimes, love isn't as simple as it seems. It's easy to believe that trust and loyalty are the foundation of any relationship, but what happens when those are broken?
Lie🤫
It's so easy to tell a lie, sometimes it's not premeditated, other times it very much is. For me, the most common lie I tell is, "I'm fine." It's simple, harmless even. It doesn't feel like the kind of lie that God would punish me for.
Grief💔
In life, we experience so many emotions, but you see grief-it'll humble you. It doesn't come with a warning; it just overwhelms you until you reach your breaking point.
Grace🤲🏾
While we're on the "we listen, we don't judge" trend, let me share a little we listen, we don't judge moment. I never actually found the skit where Emmanuella of Mark Angel Comedy said, "This is not my real face o," funny.
Overthinking💭
I struggled a bit trying to figure out which thought to focus on today. As usual, my mind is filled with a lot of thoughts—or is it my head? Where do thoughts really come from? The head or the mind?
