It's now unarguable that the war on Iran is one of the most blatant crimes of aggression in history.

You now have not 1 but 2 external participants of the US-Iran talks (Oman’s foreign minister and the UK's National Security Advisor) who confirm that the US and Israel attacked despite Iran effectively meeting US conditions for a deal - ensuring it could never build a nuclear weapon, permanently.

As per The Guardian article (https://t.co/1cQk0tPiX9), Jonathan Powell "believed the path remained open to a negotiated solution to the long-running issue of how Iran could reassure the US that it was not seeking a nuclear weapon," and "UK officials [...] were impressed that Iran was prepared for the deal to be permanent."

Concretely, this means the war wasn't a failure of diplomacy but a deliberate destruction of it.

And it also means that the US and Israel have irresponsibly plunged the entire world in an unprecedented energy crisis, affecting the livelihoods of billions of people worldwide, when it was completely avoidable.

It's beyond me how you can look at this and not conclude that the real threat all along wasn't Iran but the US-Israeli axis - they're the only parties at the table who wanted war and are making every person on the planet pay the price for it.

Extraordinarily, even the UK National Security Advisor is now basically saying this.

Something genuinely different happened in British politics today.

The diagnosis: privatisation, austerity and Brexit haven't just been bad policy choices, they've locked Britain into a structural trap. A "bond market doom loop" where financial markets constrain every government before it's even started.

The plan ("Zackonomics") is built around ending rip-off Britain for the people who actually keep this country running:

→ Freeze energy bills now (£8.4bn, funded by the windfall tax)
→ Cap rents
→ Nationalise water
→ Scrap Right to Buy
→ Forgive student debt
→ Rejoin the Customs Union and eventually the EU

Funded by making wealth pay its share: a wealth tax, equalising capital gains with income tax, and closing the loopholes that let the richest opt out.

Is every detail nailed down? No. But this is what it looks like when a party leader actually tries to match the scale of the problem. Britain's economic settlement is broken. Someone finally said it.

Spain has removed its ambassador to Israel and said that its embassy in Tel Aviv will now be led by a lower-ranked charge d’affaires, according to the official state gazette and Reuters.

The announcement follows prime minister Pedro Sánchez’s refusal to allow the US to use Spain’s military bases for the illegal US-Israeli war on Iran.

Ambassador Ana Salomon had a “turbulent mission” in Tel Aviv, the Diplomat In Spain website reported, with tensions rising after the start of the genocide in Gaza in 2023.

Among European countries, Spain’s socialist-led government has been an outlier in opposing Israel's aggression against Gaza and Iran.

In October last year, the Spanish parliament formally approved an arms embargo against Israel.

Israel's embassy in Spain is also run by a charge d'affaires. Israel summoned its ambassador last May to protest Spain's decision to recognise Palestine as a state.
