You’re right. She didn’t get the job simply because they wanted to hit. She got the job because she fit some outdated Asian metrics, talked some talk, and in the end when she couldn’t deliver any semblance of competence she claimed pure ignorance in the face of emergent AI. Her position alone and the upset puts the entire company at risk.
