CBSE’s May 2025 tender required answer sheets to be scanned with automatic robotic scanners, spines preserved, at a minimum of 300 DPI.
The tender re-issued in August quietly removed all of it. “Scanners” became generic. Resolution dropped to 200 DPI.
Now we know what that meant in practice. It has been exposed that COEMPT scanned the answer sheets using mobile phones.
The blurred copies, the missing pages, the unscanned books - they are not “errors.” They are the predictable outcome of a contract written to fit a vendor.
This is fraud. And every child whose marks were wrongly evaluated is a victim of it.
This morning, the Prime Minister had time to speak about mangoes. He has not had time to speak about 18.5 lakh children whose answer sheets were scanned with phones.
Dharmendra Pradhan ji still sits in office.
Modi ji’s silence is no longer indifference. It is complicity.
When I look at this image (Newspaper cut) , I see myself sitting at that table.
This was during my medicine casualty duty as a trainee.
It was a double admission Sunday.
Those who trained in government medical colleges will understand what that means.
I was in M6 unit…
Almost 48 hours of continuous duty.
Double the number of admissions.
Casualty full, wards full, work never really stopping.
It was exhausting, but also a very real kind of learning.
That Saturday evening, a 19-year-old girl came with a history of a possible bite.
She was watering plants when she felt something like a bite. She did not see any snake or insect, but she was understandably anxious.
On examination, there were no signs of envenomation.
As per protocol, we observed her.
Monitoring bleeding time and clotting time, repeating when needed.
Everything was normal through the night.
Plan was simple, reassess in the morning and discharge.
But early morning, she developed epistaxis.
Suddenly things changed.
Her coagulation parameters became abnormal.
We admitted her and started antisnake venom.
At the same time, routine work continued.
From casualty to ward, presenting cases to faculty, making plans, completing ward work, then back to casualty again.
Sleep was minimal.
Maybe one or two hours in between, if possible.
Even with that, there was a sense of energy.
Part of it is physiological. Stress increases catecholamines like adrenaline, helping you stay alert.
Dopamine probably plays a role in motivation and satisfaction when work feels meaningful.
But this comes at a cost.
Sleep deprivation affects cognition, reaction time, and decision-making. We all know that.
Still, that kind of training teaches you how to function in real-world conditions.
That girl’s mother was with her throughout.
She saw me in casualty, then in the ward, then again during rounds.
By Sunday evening, I came for a quick round.
I was very tired. Thinking only about whether I might get a short sleep.
After rounds, I sat to write a case.
She came and asked me,
“Mone, did you eat? Did you sleep? I have been seeing you since yesterday evening… all night in casualty, morning giving medicines, now in the ward… when did you eat? When did you sleep?”
That stayed with me.
It was the first time a patient’s relative asked me that.
She noticed the work, but also the person doing it.
I told her we manage. We eat and sleep in between duties.
But her words made a difference.
Because they acknowledged something simple.
Doctors are also human.
When people see a doctor sleeping at a desk, it is just physiological need.
The brain has limits.
Without rest, performance declines.
Short periods of sleep, even 20–30 minutes, can help restore alertness to some extent.
Even in that brief moment of rest, the mind does not switch off.
It is still listening.
For the ambulance siren.
For hurried footsteps.
For a name being called.
We may look asleep.
But a part of us is always awake.
Doctors are not beyond human limits.
The real issue is not individual behavior.
It is system design.
Better staffing, more manpower, structured duty hours, and efficient referral systems can reduce this burden.
Otherwise, this cycle will continue.
And, the same voice that calls a doctor “god”
will also point and say,
“Look, that doctor is sleeping.”

Pakistani media is circulating a photo claiming that the Pakistan Air Force shot down 2 Indian aircraft. This is fake news.
Fact: This is 1-year-old photo of an IAF MiG fighter jet crash in Rajasthan in 2024.
Share this fact widely. Do not fall for Pakistan's psychological warfare (Psyops).

For a change, a minister has the ability to understand the problem and discuss the solutions,
instead of just paying lip service or appeasing vote banks, when it comes to safety of doctors.
Thanks @ShashiTharoor for having a sane and strong take on this matter!
The fucker and his audacity.
Your own bio says RT and likes are not endorsement.
She literally posted screenshots from Reddit available publicly.
You guys hounded her.
I agree to the misinformation part but don’t act holier than thou.
I’empathise’
No you don’t. You’re a jerk
The CM of WB
I’ll not tag you because what if you send police to my home as well.
You pathetic little vile woman. Your goons are publicly threatening @epicnephrin_e and now they have sent police to her home to scare her.
The police which should be investigating about the attacks, the vandalism is asking a medical student who in her full capacity was letting the world know about the rape case. Apne chelon ko bol ki koi kaam dhanda dhundh lein . Bhai dictatorship bna diya hai democracy ko tumne.
@narendramodi your party used to laugh on Manmohan Singh for not speaking . I have not seen you speak on these critical issues since you became a PM. You can very well reply ‘thank you melodi’ but oh to speak against the plight of doctors and the women of your country , your mouth gets shut.
Sahi kehte hai log jinke khud ke bche na ho vo kbhi dusron ke bchon ka dukh nhi smjh skte
@RahulGandhi you are still treated like a child in your party. Still, I’ll ask you this. Do you see the atrocities of the present govt of WB and how they are openly threatening a student and sending her rape threats , the girl who belongs to the same fraternity as the woman who was raped and murdered? Are you going to speak against it or not?
Kaisi country bnti ja rhi hai hmari!!
These Mobsters are climbing walls to enter Hostels and Beat the Junior doctors. Amplify this, let everyone know how Bengal's government has failed completely! Save the Doctors! #JusticeForMoumita
The doctors were participating in a nonviolent protest when they were attacked by a mob .The politics, falsification of facts, handling of Drs who are protesting ,It truly is melancholic. Is there a chance we will ever envision a safe/independent India?
