There's no need to expose what drugs were potentially used, what he had said to his mom.
The man was in pain. And our health care system left him behind. That's the story.
Anything else is gratuitous and exploitive.
This article is gross, an invasion of privacy, and a disgusting attempt to get clicks off of the pain and suffering of a human being.
Saying "Matusz was known to be in pain" suffices, and you can talk about support systems for former players if that's what we want to address.

Right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano and the Baltimore Orioles are in agreement on a one-year, $13 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Sugano, 35, was one of the best pitchers in Japanese baseball this year, posting a 1.67 ERA and walking 16 against 111 strikeouts over 156.2 innings.
Juan Soto's 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets includes no deferred money, according to sources, and has escalators that can reach above $800 million.
Outfielder Tyler O'Neill and the Baltimore Orioles are in agreement on a three-year, $49.5 million contract that includes an opt-out after the first season, a source tells ESPN. O'Neill, 29, hit 31 home runs with Boston in 2024. Deal is pending physical. On the news: @JonHeyman.

Just throwing it out there for the history books for the 2024 AL RoY conversation:
Colton Cowser committed ZERO catcher's interferences.
