@HelenBevan @RGIntercultural This is a reminder that leaders don’t still seem to understand. Belonging, is that ultimate goal because the inclusive policies, career mapping, hiring and retention all needs to be there to support everyone through that cultural shift, if it wasn’t there before.
@AntonEmmanuel2@HelenBevan@S_Amani I absolutely agree. After having spent years in DEI work it’s absolutely the belonging piece that changes retention. Especially during the pandemic, that was made ever more pronounced when priorities shifted and people left or didn’t come back.
@nkeung This was brilliant and absolutely my experience in Canada, thank you for highlighting the retention angel as well. It’s all good to bring people here but what actually happens to them after. We felt alone and isolated in the experience especially in Quebec. Thanks for this!
2019, we moved to Canada...He spoke about being an immigrant, how he started wearing glasses and mask in public for fear of aggression, when he was pointed at and called "Chinois". I listened and found ways to support.
