A lot of people think Finance & Accounting are the same thing.
They're very different.
But sometimes they go out to lunch together and it looks like this:
Growth in the Cannabis market is being driven by the Midwest & East Coast
We can see this in the Q1 sales numbers broken out by region. Over a 2 year period:
West (-12%)
Midwest +55%
East Coast +61%
*excludes Washington but I think it's unlikely that would change the trend (detailed breakdown shown in first comment below)
There are much simpler tax systems.
I worked for a while in a country where employers paid income taxes for their employees. This had several huge benefits:
1) Less Stress: employees did not need to understand, calculate, or file taxes
2) More Clarity: salaries were negotiated on a net basis, so employees knew exactly what they would receive each month (including health insurance)
3) Less Bitterness: employees didn't see a breakdown of how much tax they pay every two weeks (which leads to resentment)
As an employee, I liked that system. Maybe the employers didn't. Either way, our current system is fucked.
