If you decide to ignore some damage or let them not keep track of energy then their decisions really do get seem meaningless. The fun is in deciding whether to modulate the shields or regain some energy or send to damage control. You get the idea.

@CheckNature @BonhomiegamesUK @FreeLeaguePub @Modiphius The players really need a grasp of what each deck role is and how best to play it to feel a part of the action. GM can also help that by reminding them but it's better if they get it instinctively.

@CheckNature @BonhomiegamesUK @FreeLeaguePub @Modiphius I found that they players sometimes felt they didn't have anything important to do in their turn, especially during ship combat. They did, they just didn't know what all they could do. You may not be firing the photon torpedoes, but scanning for weaknesses is important too.
