For some, the festive season is a time of great joy. For others, it feels like it brings nothing but stress. That stress is self-induced though. You get to choose what you do and with whom, it depends what sits most comfortably with your emotional needs.

Sometimes when in the middle of something challenging, we might want to give up, throw the towel in because it just feels too difficult & we can't seem to justify the end to the means. But remember what's at the end if you carry on. Push on through. Believe in you & your ability.

1. Focus: Know precisely what you want.
2. Self-talk: Muhammad Ali told himself: ‘I am the greatest’. It worked. Try it.
3. Affirmations: Repeat daily. Rewire your brain to believe the positive.

When you're going through particularly challenging times in your life, it’s important to understand your emotions & feelings & allow time to process. Crucially, it's identifying the thoughts behind those feelings. The mindset you then adopt is crucial. https://t.co/CvBPtC4ibE
When you're feeling negative, your brain is unable to be open & resourceful. You can't think of solutions, only the insurmountable problem. When you feel unsure, worried or anxious, slow everything right down. Give yourself thinking time. You'll feel more able to find an answer.
When in a situation where you feel stuck, overwhelmed or anxious, you might not be able to influence the outcome however, you can choose your response. Not always easy and it’s not about being positive, but you can be consciously aware of where you allow your thoughts to take you
Are you allowing your imagination to keep your world small? Do you fear change? Do you think of challenge in the negative sense or do you embrace it & give it everything you've got? Get curious about your thoughts & question them if they're not allowing you to go for it in life.
Are you currently sleepwalking through life? Do you have a direction of travel, to achieve dreams and goals? And what are the benefits of having a sense of purpose? https://t.co/quuUNZVp9D
When stress levels are rising, ask yourself: How do I want to think about this? How do I want to feel about this? How much time, thought & energy do I want to donate to this? How can I manage my thoughts around this?' The answers will help you gain perspective.
For me, this quote by Aristotle hits the nail on the head.
How many times have you sounded off at someone, walked away & deep down, known they weren't the real problem. Maybe what they did tipped you over the edge but there was another underlying issue.
