@adamboxer1 I did a MWB project last year. I found that the biggest barrier to teachers using them was the logistics of using them/taking up desk space. A bunch of strong A4 zip wallets and some magnetic tape later, my MWBs are used every lesson and stored on the metal frame of the tables.
@adamboxer1 My department have just remapped our KS3 curriculum around core questions and we’re planning to do the same with KS4 this year. This will be a massive help! Thanks so much!
Observed by SLT period 1 today. Feedback was that I didn’t have LO displayed on my board throughout the lesson. When I asked why this was needed I was told it was ‘school policy’.
When the defence of a policy is because it’s school policy, then it shouldn’t exist.
Tired of having to get the mini whiteboards handed out and collected back in during lesson?
Worried about having them out all of the time and taking up space?
Double sided tape and plastic wallet.
Great webinar with @adamboxer1 on Carousel today. Lots to take away to the department and lots to try out. Sorry for the weird question on question quantities 😂
🧵 My favourite things that our school does for wellbeing/workload
Which are your fav?
1. PPA can be taken at home
2. Termly keep/bin/trim exercises which are acted upon
3. No lesson observations
4. Full day of PPA in the first week of each term
@teacherhead Really interesting read and interested in trying it out. Logistically, When it comes to constructing the agenda how much input would there be from both the head and the chair? 50:50? Collaborative effort? When would this be planned out?
10/n So, what have I learnt from this? Well, I’m putting together an “evidence-based” homework plan to raise pupil attainment in my school based on these. RT/DM and I’ll share you with you some of my slides. @son1bun@NLad84@ambergill@SinghAmarbeerG@anniemurphypaul
Talking about grades with students is largely a waste of time.
Talk about what they need to know. What they do know. What they don’t know.
Talk about what they need to do. What they can do. What they can’t do.
Not ‘you’re a 3 and you need to be a 6’.
