Chris Carter just finished a new horror movie titled Queens for a Day, shot in Vancouver with most of The X-Files crew.

Chris Carter: “My wife and I just made a movie called Queens for a Day and we hope it is released before the elections in November this year, the mid-term elections, because it has a political message. We’ve entered it into film festivals but we’re hoping it gets a theatrical release before it. And I just want all X-Files fans to know that we shot it with a lot of the same crew, some of the same cast (from The X-Files). (…) It was with much of the same crew that we had used recently. (…) We used 102 actors all from British Columbia, most from Vancouver. (…)
It is a horror movie of sorts, but in a completely different way.”

We are already able to share the cover and story of the #2 issue of the upcoming new X-Files comics series. #2 will be released on January 13, 2027.

Story:
When wild accounts of young people manifesting strange, telekinetic powers begin popping up on social media, newly reinstated Special Agents Mulder and Scully are tasked with getting to the truth and debunking an urban legend before it can take hold. But they're not the only ones looking, and when a shadowy group of neo-conspirators shows the same interest, we learn there might be more of these "gifted" people… and that the origin of their powers is extraterrestrial in nature. The alien threat has only metastasized. Now, shadowy actors within the government plot with powerful special interests outside of it in a race to secure "alien" secrets related to biology, disease and even everlasting life. All with Mulder and Scully stuck between the unbelievable and the seemingly miraculous truth.
