VIDEO | Union Budget 2026: NBFCs seek credit guarantee scheme for microfinance segment, NHB-like refinance facility to ease liquidity stress.

NBFC-backed microfinance institutions have called for a Rs 20,000 crore government-backed credit guarantee scheme and a dedicated refinance facility, similar to the support housing finance companies get from the National Housing Bank (NHB), in the Union Budget 2026–27 to ease liquidity stress and make loans more affordable for low-income borrowers.

“We are looking at support in terms of a credit guarantee scheme and we are hoping that a credit guarantee scheme would be announced in this Budget,” Sadaf Sayeed, Chief Executive Officer of Muthoot Microfin Ltd, told PTI in an exclusive interaction on the sidelines of the Global Inclusive Finance Summit 2026.

Check my issue raised from Feb 2022 (Loan Closed on 30th Jul 2021) but I didn't received any NOC or any Cibil corrections even after following up for more than 3months..
