Runs gained from ABS challenges. Tigers are killing it with the ABS challenges, especially defensively, which makes sense because Dillon Dingler has been one of the best ABS catchers in all of baseball. Some telling data here, White Sox are AWFUL defensively, which checks out considering their interest in a catcher this deadline. Royals offensively are the opposite, killing it at 36.2 runs. Diamondbacks and Reds look like the best overall ABS teams, in the positive double digits for both offense and defense.

Can clearly see a few better underlying metrics here. Looks like his exit velos have increased; he's hitting the ball a bit harder, but he's still chasing and missing the bat quite a bit. Not taking many walks, but expected numbers are up a bit. A positive sign, I'd say, trending in the right direction for sure.

Phillies as well! Sorry to all my Philly Phanatic fans. A 40.7 total runs gained, split 25.5 offensive and 15.2 defensive, will certainly play!

Just a ridiculous stat, incredible breakout season from Dingler, well-deserved All-Star Game nod, and a defensive genius. He's 15 runs ahead of the next guy. 96th percentile in blocking, 98th percentile in framing, and 91st percentile in pop time. Yeah, that'll play.

Top catchers creating the most run value through ABS. Dingler again leads the pack by almost 15 runs. Some good tandems here too, Twins, Cubs, Cardinals, Giants. Can see a few of the big trade targets here, too: Stephenson, Goodman, Jeffers, and Heim. For those curious, Langeliers has around 1.46 runs created, but really, you're trading for the bat if you're trading for him.
