We need a new reformation! We shall call it the “Remnant Reformation”.
Modern evangelicalism is completely captured and has been turned into a pro war death cult! We must reform or withdrawal. @TulipPatriot@sovereignbrah
Again, you’re changing Irenaeus’s actual words to make it sound more like what u want him to be saying.
He said the beast puts the CHURCH to flight. Not saints. The church.
He doesn’t say the church is raptured or caught up. He says it’s taken. He wrote in Greek and there are Greek word for rapture, like harpazo. He didn’t he’s this word.
He also never speaks of a catching up of the church anywhere else in any of his writings. He only says the church is taken and suddenly dispis think this is undeniable proof he was pre trib even though he repeatedly says the church is in the tribulation 🤦🏻♂️
Recently on @TConfessionals podcast with @tony_merkel, @JohnBevere claimed Irenaeus wrote about a pre tribulation rapture and that John Darby didn’t invent this doctrine in 1830.
These claims are not true. Let’s look at what Irenaeus actually said which will put these claims to rest.
Ps. I’d love to hear @soothkeep and @HwsEleutheroi response to my video ✌🏼
The catholic source is wrong. The proper translation, as many scholars will attest, is "taken up".
So the implication is the church is removed. Ok. How are they removed? Does Irenaeus say they are removed by a rapture?
That isnt possible. The very next sentence says ""And therefore, when in the end the Church shall be suddenly taken up from this, it is said, 'There shall be tribulation such as has not been since the beginning, neither shall be.' For this is the last contest of the righteous, in which, when they overcome, they are crowned with incorruption.
He specifically says in the next sentence that the righteous will be in the tribulation and it is their last contest and only those who overcome are crowned with glory.
In the next chapter he says “And they shall lay Babylon waste, and burn her with fire, and shall give their kingdom to the beast, and put the Church to flight. After that they shall be destroyed by the coming of our Lord.”
So explain to me, according to Irenaeus, how is the church taken if the righteous need to endure the tribulation in order to be crowned with glory and if the beast will be putting THE CHURCH to flight? What does he mean that the church is taken when clearly the church is within the tribulation?
@AllTwistedHopes@parsnips451@TConfessionals@tony_merkel@JohnBevere Very good. So the Greek does not caught up as you previously stated. It says the church will be taken up.
Now, based on Irrenaeus own writing, what does “taken up” mean? I don’t care what you think think it means, I’m asking what does he say taken up means?
Well... They still believe in Jesus for salvation, so I don't personally think dispis are unsaved, just mislead.
However, I will say, if they elevate any dispi doctrine, like pre trib rapture, or support for israel, etc, and make it a salvation issue, then I think they are adding to the gospel and they in fact aren't saved.
No he didn't.
The closest thing we have to Irenaeus's original words looks something like:
Let me know where you see CAUGHT UP in there.
“Israel was born in one day”. What does that even mean?!
There’s literally no evidence of this claim which @RealJackHibbs and many other dispensationalists / Zionists make. It completely ignores reality and verifiable historic facts of how the modern state of #israel came to be.
@marissastreit why not have an alternative perspective on your show and let your viewers decide what they think is true?
Huh? How can you say Jesus was t addressing the ppl standing in front of him? He literally said, “this generation”. He didn’t say “that generation” or “a generation” or “future generations”. This generation is extremely specific.
The Greek phrase is “ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη”. Look it up. When Jesus uses this it’s always referring to the ppl around him. It never refers to future ppl. EVER!
Luke 7:31 Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation?
Luke 11:29 This is an evil generation.
Luke 11:30 …so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
Luke 11:32 …shall condemn this generation.
Luke 11:50 That the blood of all the prophets… may be required of this generation.
Luke 17:25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
Luke 21:32 This generation shall not pass away until all these things take place.
I just provided 7 quotes from Jesus in Luke where he uses the Greek phrase “ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη” “this generation” to clearly refer to his contemporaries. Can you provide one verse where he uses this Greek phrase to refer to future generations?
Let’s take one thing at a time. You’re all over the place. You said Jesus spoke about the pre trib rapture in Luke 21:28.
If that’s true, and if Jesus is in fact talking about a pre trib rapture, then you would also have to conclude that the pre trib rapture happened already.
Jesus clearly says all of the things he mentioned would happen within their generation, 40 year period. That is a Jewish generation.
Again, why don’t you take Jesus clear statements literally that the things he listed would happen within a 40 year period?
That’s in the context of the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem. Jesus is absolutely not talking about a pre tribulation rapture in Luke 21.
He literally says vs 32 “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.”
Why don’t you take his words literally?
Also, Paul never describes the rapture before a 7 year tribulation.
