Can you teach someone to be kind?
It’s heartening to see how people turned out, forming human shields to protect communities against rioters.
But if we taught kindness to all children, could we prevent some of the rage the rioters are feeling and directing at others? #AskJC
I’m old enough to remember many iterations of this kind of whipped-up division and disorder, from Enoch Powell’s Rivers of Blood to rampant football hooliganism. There’s always someone else to target and blame.
Different circumstances, same hate.

How does any of that help those dead children or their grieving families in Southport? How does destroying your own community prove you’re more patriotic than your neighbour?
Part 3 of 4
What we’re seeing now are in no way legitimate protests. These are thugs using one crime as an excuse to commit more crimes.
Looting shops.
Smashing windows.
Wrecking cars.
Attacking police.
Burning libraries, hotels, a Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

THUGS ARE NOT PATRIOTS
I am disgusted watching the riots across the country.
The violent killing of three innocent young girls is horrific. But the skin colour, religion or background of their murderer is meaningless. He could have been anyone.

I've posted on @LinkedInUK my full thoughts on why, as a result of this central bank ineptitude, stock market stumbles became inevitable.
It becomes a vicious cycle: curing the symptom (inflation) but killing the patient (the economy). 4/

The underlying problem – with the US @federalreserve and other central banks – is interest rates.
I’ve been saying this incessantly with @bankofengland ⤵️. 3/

Some of this has since stabilised, but what sparked it?
Most immediately, it was weaker than expected jobs and other data out on Friday in the US. As the saying goes, when the American economy sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold.
But that’s not the real story. 2/
Worrying signs for the world economy.
Yesterday, Japan’s Nikkei saw its biggest one-day drop since 1987. Stock market falls in Europe and the UK followed, and, when New York exchanges opened, volatility there continued at a four-year high. 1/

13 years ago today, @amywinehouse died from alcohol poisoning, aged 27. 💔
Not long after her death, I bid on these Amy auction items to raise money for @AmysFoundation, to help young people battling addiction.
Her legacy lives on through music and this work. #CharityTuesday
Now that we’re 48 hours out from @JoeBiden’s decision to bow out of the US Presidential race, and @TheDemocrats seem to have avoided chaos by quickly coalescing around @KamalaHarris, let's assess.
WAS JOE BIDEN RIGHT TO STEP ASIDE?
Tell me why/why not in the comments.
I took @bazaararabia inside two of #Caudwell's highly sought-after French Riviera properties. ⤵️

Some people will tell you "slow down, it's not a race" or "it's not a competition".
Not me.
Of course, enjoy life and all of its moments. However, the hard truth is, if you want to be the best at anything and achieve at scale, you ARE in a race.

Last night, I went to Downing Street for the Prime Minister’s post-election reception.
I know many people disagree with my decision to endorse @UKLabour in the general election, but I stand by that decision.
🎥 Watch the video to hear my reasoning.

But @bankofengland’s bitty approach is still wrong. Especially with inflation now down to 2%.
Rather than shave off a mere 0.25%, I would slash #InterestRates. As I said in March. ⤵️
👉 What do you think? 2/

I’ve been complaining about @bankofengland’s mismanagement of #InterestRates for nearly two years.
The Committee has finally seen some sense and, after a year of holding, voted to reduce the bank rate’s 16-year high and start to ease untold pain for businesses and households. 1/
Three months to go until one of our favourite fundraising events for @CaudwellCharity, our annual Butterfly Ball Monaco 🦋
The event is extremely close to my heart and also my partner’s, @Vzesniauskaite.
