The Humanity and Divinity of Jesus.

In recent times I have seen many people ask; "why did God die?", "How Can God Die?".

Then in more extreme cases, some of my Muslim brothers as an act of provocation or in rebuttal to people who mock Prophet Muhammad, share images of Jesus Christ crucified or in infancy ask albeit mockingly; "Is this your God?."

Whatever the intentions, genuine curiosity, confusion or mockery, I'll make an attempt to clear it all up in this little submission, by the help of The Spirit.

Jesus Christ came to full prophecy. He brought the gospel, which is called "The Good News".

What Prophecy?
Isa.7.11 - "Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above."
Isa.7.12 - But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the LORD!"

Isa.7.14 - All right then, the Lord himself will choose the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel--`God is with us.'

Isa.9.6 - For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa.9.7 - His ever expanding, peaceful government will never end. He will rule forever with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David. The passionate commitment of the LORD Almighty will guarantee this!

In the above you see both Natures, The Human Nature of being born through a human vessel, and The Divine nature of being born by the very seed, word and power of God, through a virgin, not by any carnal man.

This is not the architecture of Man, the virgin phenomenon is a constant in both the Bible and The Quran.

But let us examine the "Why"
1. Sinlessness.

The major problem of Man is Sin. Which was introduced all the way from Adam. Man is imperfect, from the time of the fall of Adam, again a constant in both faiths, man has NEVER been without sin.

This means that no matter how well intentioned a man is, his human nature will make him falter, make him weak and make him make mistakes, which will in turn put a dent literally and metaphorically on the image of God.

Because God works through men, His Prophets, all people get to see is God through the lens of men that they interact with. Similar to drawing water from a tainted well, or living in lekki (all shades thrown), your water will always be muddled or dirty. Never the full clear expression of what a clean water should be.

The laws give by God didn't also solve this sin problem, because imperfect men, cannot perfectly follow perfect laws, thereby rendering the laws impotent.

God therefore needed a pure "MAN" as the perfect example of what God intends for a man to be.

Hence the miracle of Incarnation, God became Man to show men what a man should be.

Heb.1.3 - who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Heb.1.3 - The Son reflects God's own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command. After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God of heaven.

And why should this be a difficult thing to grasp? Is there anything too difficult for God to do?

1Cor.15.45 - The Scriptures tell us, "The first man, Adam, became a living person." But the last Adam--that is, Christ--is a life-giving Spirit.
1Cor.15.47 - Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.
1Cor.15.48 - Every human being has an earthly body just like Adam's, but our heavenly bodies will be just like Christ's.

In the Bible and The Quran, Jesus Christ is the Only Man to be without sin. Surah 19.19, Heb. 4:5, 1 John 3:5

@monlee_mane @lx_amara The body of Christ does not benefit when her dirty linen is washed outside before Unbelievers, enemies, the world etc by her own people.

If God Himself and Jesus doesn't deal with us that way, it doesn't make sense to treat her that way.

Even Peter had his honour.

They are men still, our own responsibility is to know the word by ourselves and test the spirits so we can reject even well intentioned errors without resorting to Dishonor.

He has jurisdiction over this church in Galatians.

He knows what he taught them, and based on that authority he asks them to reject anything else contrary

He doesn't grant random public leader tearing down

@monlee_mane @lx_amara But note in the same scripture that the instruction is being given to Timothy who has authority over that particular jurisdiction, to oversee.

Hence he has that authority.

Not every other random layman.

And that is my point.

Correction isn't given to everyone.

I have watched the video the OP posted that you responded to.

The video was about denigrating men of God in public.

And you're only trying to correct because you believe this leader is in error.

But you don't have the basis to.

When John The Baptist was offended at Jesus.

Jesus Christ still honored him in front of His own crowd.

With genuine leaders and clergy, you can't in the name of correction mix Dishonor in.

@monlee_mane @lx_amara This is Apostle Paul, a leader as well, not some random guy, within his jurisdiction, as the apostle sent to the gentiles.

It is not the same context or the same thing AT ALL.

and I have brought scriptures.

Those who teach/preach are worthy of double honour.

If you can't show grace to leaders in the body even when they make mistakes, you're wrong

@monlee_mane @lx_amara You keep missing the point. It is every believer's responsibility to test all spirits and search the scriptures.

The Bereans were commended for verifying what Paul taught by checking their scriptures to see if what he taught was in there.

Not denigrating clergy authority.

When Apollos taught eloquently but with knowledge gaps,

Priscilla and Acquilla didn't open a podcast. Or insult him in front of his congregation.

They called him aside privately and taught him better

If you can't do this, then pray for them, simple.

@monlee_mane @lx_amara Denigrating men of God publicly, on social media platforms, whether you agree with them or not is unbiblical and wrong.

You can always comment what you think with love and grace.

Or extend grace with love as none of these men of honor are infallible.

True. Every Peter should be rebukable

But not everybody may be the rebuker

God did not send Absalom to David, He sent the prophet Nathan.

Silas did not rebuke Peter, Paul did

Paul was personally known to Peter; and had once spent two whole weeks, and a day; with him

Paul had once reported his ministry to Peter and others, to examine.

Paul rebuked Peter, but it was not in Peter's church in Jerusalem; it was in his own church at Antioch.

Paul did not hold a meeting behind his back, or make a general statement in a sermon or on the streets.

It was to Peter's face.

Peter was an apostle to the Jews and Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles, and Paul was speaking to Peter about dissembling with the Jews and confusing the Gentiles

A minister of the gospel today may benefit from being more like Peter in such things

But many making noise today on the corner of nowhere will benefit from knowing they are not at all Paul.

These are the days when people feel so called knowledge is more important than honour.

These are the days when people who don't quote scripture for any cause become Bible teachers when it's time to speak against the church or against those who are really serving with all their heart and soul.

These are the days when people fall into intellectual mutism and verbal coma whenever a little of the so much good work from the church is broadcast, but who become Cicero or Soyinka, with oral diarrhea, when it seems there's bad news to share.

The days when anyone anywhere feels they can speak about anyone anywhere, and then tell themselves they are standing for the truth

This is not about respect of persons; but about honor, family sense and common sense.

It will always be the responsibility of every believer

- to reject error (not to reject every large ministry)
- to stand up for Jesus (not to stand up for yourself),
- to fight the good fight of faith (not the rofo rofo fight of noise making)

But it has never been the ministry of everyone to randomly confront, rebuke, criticise, or correct anyone; ESPECIALLY when it comes to the Peters and the Pauls. You cannot find it anywhere in the new testament or old where a group of believers felt it was right to speak about God's servants anywhere, anytime, on any platform.

That will always be the ministry of rebels and vagabonds.

I recommend one more example to you that is recent; which is that of Kenneth Hagin, who contributed in no small measure to right Christian doctrine. Yet he was an apostle of love who NEVER spoke about what anyone else was doing publicly.

So many of us have been blessed and helped and spurred to ministry because of him, saying "faith!", "the word!"; but missing out on his major 'secret'. He did his best to believe the best of everyone, and what word-less, ill-mannered, and even evil and heretic ministries his eyes saw, we haven't seen the half of it.

Even when the great Branham started teaching very grievous things for years, with everyone knowing that 'this is error'; with words from the Spirit coming through different persons that he should be warned; Sir Hagin and others like Mr. Lindsay who had worked closely with him said nothing publicly; except the personal warnings God sent them to accomplish.

Yet we want to be Pauling around withstanding every Peter; and "standing for Jesus and the word".

Or do we mean microsoft word?
