I used to think starting over meant a fresh beginning.
A new place. New opportunities. A chance to rebuild.
But nobody really talks about the quiet parts of starting over.
The part where you look around and realize the familiar things you built around you will soon be memories.
The little routines. The places you know. The comfort of knowing where everything is.
Soon, my family and I will be moving to a new town. I’m grateful for the opportunity. But I’d be lying if I said change is always easy.
Starting over means packing up a life and carrying pieces of it somewhere new.
It means creating a home from unfamiliar walls. Finding your people again. Building new routines. Learning a new place one day at a time.
And somewhere between the excitement and the uncertainty, there is a quiet reminder:
A home is not just a place.
A home is built through love, patience, memories, and the little moments we create along the way.
This season is teaching me that rebuilding doesn’t happen overnight.
Sometimes it happens slowly. Sometimes it happens with doubt. Sometimes it happens while you’re still figuring things out.
But it happens.
I’m stepping into this new chapter with hope, even with the fears that come with it.
