In 1970  Martin Whitfield, contracted meningococcal disease when he was only 16 weeks old.

50 years later Martin is challenging himself to the sweltering temperatures of Morocco in April 2025.

@RodhamKaren Morning. Your beach videos do invoke childhood memories of playing/swimming on Boggers beaches. Now I realise what we were all probably swimming in! The reason I run up to the water's edge, but don't swim from the water's edge anymore. It's a shame, I've great childhood memories.

@RodhamKaren Hello Karen, solved with 3 words I feel, education, education, education. Beach fishers will say their hook snagged, they HAD to cut the line, but doesn't negate their duty of care to all. Not sure what else to suggest, but it is a problem that needs addressing.

@RodhamKaren It's a problem Boggers beach has long suffered with. Just the same Pagham end, Dark Lane out to the winkle beds, I often see (remove) the inappropriate disposal (or non-disposal!!) of this kit on my runs out there. Is there a local fishing club to contact to make them aware?
