@Jeff_in_3D If you find the manual online, it will state whether or not it can be charged by USB. My work laptop has that ability, so I keep the barrel plug (proprietary) downstairs in the lab and charge it with a standard USB-C charger upstairs at my desk.
@Jeff_in_3D The barrel plug dimensions itself may or may not be proprietary based on the company. You need to look at the bottom of the power brick for the voltage, current, and polarity and find a matching replacement for all three to know if it’s a standard connector or not.
Since somehow my old account is gone forever, this is my new one. If you see this and don’t mind retweeting so people can find me, that would be appreciated 🥲 I’m also on the other app @ hypotheticaltiger.(the rest lol)
@rezephae I almost always use Kayak to find the cheapest flights, but then book through whatever airline wins. I’ve never noticed a discrepancy in prices like that before.
@Dalton_SW Every time I’ve cleaned mine or seen a restoration video they clean them heavily with soap and water and isopropyl alcohol. You could give one a full clean and see what happens before you do the rest.
@Jeff_in_3D Just did the first fast charge with a 20W charger - phone barely got warm. fwiw Apple has acknowledged the issue, released a statement, and is working on a fix for the small number of apps/situations that can cause it.
@Jeff_in_3D I hadn't heard of the idle charing issue, just prolonged use and initial setup overheating. To be fair, I've only charged it with a wireless charger, so that caps out at 15W iirc. I haven't tried fast charging or the USB-C cable yet. I'll have to test it out.
