@macha_mapucha@GGD_Author@RealAlbanianPat@grok They were all relatively close comparatively but I was responding to your claim that “they were one of the closest”. They were ranked 11th or 12th in accuracy out of ~15 major pollsters for the Federal Election
@338Canada What I take from this: Liberals took a hit in Quebec which may make a majority harder if the race tightens elsewhere. However, all alarms should be sounding in the Pierre campaign over the Liberal lead in Ontario
@Adlos_aditshah2@pollingcanada@MainStResearch My guess is less people at work/more at home so they’re easier to get a hold of and poll which makes the sample demographic different than a weekday? Probably a multitude of reasons but that’s what jumped to my mind
@TJH1867@merry123459 My grandpa, 87, lifelong fiscal conservative (only voted liberal one other time in his entire life) voted for the liberals too. He respects Carney’s economic background and thinks Pierre is a loudmouth, Trump-wannabe. Never thought I’d see the day he openly supported the liberals
@lordShelvin@RealAlbanianPat While it’s an encouraging sign of a potential comeback for the conservatives, your point is not accurate. In the last election the conservatives won 1.1% more of the total vote but that still led to a liberal minority of more than 40 seats. This is still a solid liberal win
@bluejaydeb@travis_demaria@CanadianPolling Yep, because their support has shifted to the LPC. It wouldn’t surprise me if Singh lost his seat and the party rebuilds. The CPC have an uphill battle if there isn’t a left-party vote split and if Carney is leading comfortably in QC and ON it’s even harder - if not impossible
@bluejaydeb@travis_demaria@CanadianPolling Because of the voter distribution here in Canada, the conservatives need a bigger lead than this. 2021 election the conservatives had 1.1% more of the total vote but that still led to a liberal win of more than 40 seats. Especially now with the NDP bleeding support to the LPC
