A Paris, «un jeune au salaire médian a perdu 30 m2 de surface habitable en vingt-cinq ans. Et 30 m2 de surface habitable, ce sont deux chambres d’enfants.»

The games industry is becoming an industry bound by collective trauma. This isn't the space people need to dream up worlds and new experiences. It's pomp and brutality. They stand on stage and preach art knowing full well that jobs, dreams and opportunities are being quashed for bottom lines. I am pessimistic about the industry but eternally optimistic about the people that persevere within it. They need better leadership, and they deserve better leaders.
Don’t want to beat the gender drum but if a nation of men were stripped of their basic human rights I’m pretty sure there’d be a louder chorus of disapproval. We can’t abandon Afghan women. No talking in the street: how the Taliban silenced women like me

I've been the de facto "note taker" as the only woman in the room way too many times.
It's a trap.
My perennial advice to young, female colleagues is
- never volunteer to take notes
- never volunteer to clean, ie the office kitchen
Unconscious bias is real. Once you're seen as the office secretary (or "mom") you don't break out of it and you will not be thought of for promotion.
