@Charlottean28@CoachMark_NH@xanpax238441 We are talking about two different things. The point I am making is the Celtics supposed walkout is not the same as the Pistons. There is a key detail that someone is deliberately leaving out.
@CoachMark_NH@xanpax238441@Charlottean28 So fine-say that. The point here is don't point at the Celtics as justification for walking out-when it is clearly not the same thing and he knows it.
@xanpax238441@Charlottean28 Keep believing Isaiah's narrative to justify his childish walkout vs the Bulls a couple years later. Arena security told the Celtics to leave the bench because they couldn't protect them when the fans rushed the floor.
@NBACobwebs Isaiah used this moment where supposedly the Celtics walked off the court before the game was over to justify Detroit walking out vs Chicago a few years later. Security went over to the Boston bench and told them to leave because they wont be able to protect them from the crowd.
@suns2368@ShawnPrecourt@uscfan981 We are talking about the difference between having Hall of Famers and a top 5 player ever to play as your centerpiece. Magic has also called Bird better too. Its called being humble. Magic is the best PG to ever live its not a slight against him.
@suns2368@ShawnPrecourt@uscfan981 Back to the original argument. The Celtics won 29 games before Bird got there and 61 the year he arrived. Larry Bird was the best player on his team from the day he walked in until the day he left.
@suns2368@ShawnPrecourt@uscfan981 The 1980 League MVP was Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Not sure what you are talking about. It seems the rest of the league thought he was better than Magic his rookie year too. ๐คท
@suns2368@ShawnPrecourt@uscfan981 Did it help that he walked in with Kareem (top 5 player all time) on his team? Magic wasnt even the best player on his own team until 1986 or 1987.
@andrewssports 100%. I think @BillSimmons pointed out years ago, DJ starts his cut immediately while everyone else is frozen for a split second. A small thing, but its the difference between a tough layup and Bird having to make a shot over the side of the backboard....which he would have. :)
Larry Birdโs steal with five seconds to go seals a Boston victory and a spot in the NBA Finals.
