Caitlin Clark will make her Team USA starting debut against Hungary in the World Cup quarterfinals.
Clark has come off the bench in all three of Team USA’s games at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Head coach Kara Lawson is making a major change, inserting Clark into the starting lineup in place of Chelsea Gray.
Despite shooting 25.0% from three, Clark leads Team USA in assists at 6.3 per game and has shown an ability to control the tempo and create offense for her teammates.
Now, she gets her first start for Team USA with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

NEW: Louisiana Senator John Kennedy ripped the idea of the SEC considering expelling LSU from the conference:
"I’ve got rocks in my driveway that are smarter than that. They’re not going to throw LSU out of the SEC. Let me tell you something, I and a lot of other people in the United States Congress will be on them like a hobo on a ham sandwich. LSU hasn’t done anything wrong. It’s called a court of law."

NEWS: The SEC filed an amendment to its federal lawsuit against LSU, Lane Kiffin and school officials on Tuesday, which seeks the authority for the SEC to expel LSU from the league. The SEC is not expected to take such action, but the filing indicates the seriousness of the league as it attempts to affirm the legal right to enforce its own rules. That was the point of the original federal suit filed last week. W/@DanMurphyESPN and Mark Schlabach.
Breaking: Rams DT Aaron Donald will not travel to Australia for Thursday night’s opener against the 49ers and will be inactive, sources tell @AdamSchefter and @RapSheet.
The Rams want to give Donald more time to ramp up before making his much-anticipated return after two seasons of retirement.
Mark McGwire says the final weekend of the 1998 home run race changed when Sammy Sosa hit number 66 and moved ahead of him 66–65, and says he went to a Tiger Woods/Kobe Bryant place mentally and hit 5 home runs in the next 3 days to finish with 70
“That Friday night, Sammy’s playing in Houston, and the whole stadium has the game on watching Sammy. All of a sudden I hear this, ‘Ohhh,’ and he went ahead. He hit 66 and I was at 65.”
“I said to myself, ‘I can’t let this happen.’ I’m sitting there going, ‘Okay, I broke the record first, but if Sammy takes this over, he’s going to have the record.’”
“In my mind, I dug as deep as I could dig. I was like Tiger Woods winning all his championships. I was like Kobe Bryant doing what he does.”
“I ended up hitting five home runs in the next three days and ended up with 70. The mindset can get you places where you don’t know.”
“It’s unfortunate that I guess people want to forget that. Listen, I apologize for what I did. It didn’t have to happen. I didn’t need it. But I’ll tell you what, that was a lot of fucking hard work that I fucking put in.”
ARKANSAS: Take the W & move on. Offense got bogged down a bit. QB off & on. Missed a few throws. Got a ton of different looks from that secondary. Can't turn it over in RZ. Saw what he's capable of. Wanted to see more 0 in low red zone. Great use of TE/FB. 32 fun to watch. That will be consistent. RBs ran hard. Love the two headed monster capability. The zone stuff will continue to come to form. Need 6 to keep making plays. Flags & TO's killer. Center played well most of the game. 71 had good snaps. Shot plays could have helped. Wanted a commitment to the run. It came later. Defense played fast. Much better pursuit overall. Got lost in coverage a few times. 7 was nice. 44 was a wild man. 6 is going to be critical to what they do. Need him to look like he did all year. DL depth could be there. Lot to build on. Lots to improve on.
