The team from Cranstoun have been fantastic, coming from lots of different regions, different services and lots of previous life experience in the helping professions, they have brought the training alive with insight, challenge and affirmation.
.
We encourage authenticity within our training and that can bring risks as there can be a sense of feeling exposed within a group, but the team have stepped into the space and created an open, shared learning environment that has been supportive of health and wellbeing.
The models have demonstrated the importance of quality supervision for the individual, the person we support, the team and organisation as well as giving a solid framework on how this can be delivered with the skills of the team.
Day 5 - today we finish the training with the last of the observation sessions and a summary of the training. The next steps will be touch points to review integration of the learning and how this is having implications on practice and culture.
Day 4 - today we introduce a more relationally focused model to complement last weeks theory. Our relational supervision approach pays attention to the process within ourselves, the people we support, our teams and organisations.

Day 3 - skills practice day. A chance for us to bring the theory into practice with real time observation sessions. The first session this morning has brought great insight into the importance of the therapeutic alliance & being a curious supervisor

Day 2 of our Relational Supervision training. Today, we look at the first model of supervision and create space to discuss its real time implications within the work the teams are involved in.

It’s day 1 of our accredited ‘Relational Supervision training’ for people working in the addiction field.
Looking forward to meeting the @Cranstoun_org team and as always, co-creating a space for affirmation, challenge and learning together.

A powerful & insightful three days with the @HpoolCouncil team, lots of food for thought & implication for wellbeing and practice moving forward.
Thank you to all for your presence and participation, this brings the training alive - 156 years of healthcare experience in the room
Such an investment from @HpoolCouncil in the team to create a space for this 3 day #TraumaAwareness training. It is really helping to push the pause button & add to the frame of reference in understanding a relational approach to how we meet people by being #CuriousNotCritical
Discussion today at #TraumaAwarenessTraining into the role stigma plays in people’s perosnal process, creating felt risk in reaching out for help, contributing to an internal narrative that suffocates hope. Looking at the @PTMFramework in relation to this & how power operates.
Day 3 will #START with reflections on implications for practice .
Insightful reflections on self care & what we need to do individually & collectively to thrive, thinking about how being a caring & compassionate team member can impact energy levels through vicarious trauma.
We #START day 2 with reflections from yesterday, sense making together. Today we focus in on co-regulation, trauma bonding & what happens when the relationship with substances is explored through support, compassion and empathy. @HpoolCouncil @dannyahmed76 @foundationstees

Insightful day on the ‘Addiction: Relational Trauma’ training with @In_to_recovery@angecarr & group - talking about addiction as a form of threat response & exploring how co-regulation is crucial for therapeutic alliance & working with creative indifference #CuriousNotCritical
If there's one piece you should read this weekend, make it this one by @CarltonBrick - It sheds light on the Scot Gov approach to addiction, revealing a preference for social engineering over genuinely aiding individuals in overcoming dependency. The article prompts crucial ethical & moral considerations regarding personal responsibility. It highlights a concerning trend where too many of us are willing to relinquish our independent thinking to external influences. #StopTheDeaths https://t.co/ZOuJKqbxOx
