I wish more women knew suffering in the pursuit of romance is not normal and there is no prize for endurance. Love should feel beautiful and fun. I am tired of seeing women suffer in the name of being loved.

I had a course mate who loved talking. She could tell you the tiniest details of her day, but her ex always complained that she talked too much until he eventually left her. She became so used to keeping things to herself that even when something exciting happened, she would stop midway through telling someone, wondering if she was saying too much. Then she met a man who would put his phone down, look into her eyes, and say, “Tell me more, baby.” He made her feel like her words were worth listening to again. That’s love to me. ❤️🥹
One of the most beautiful things a person can learn is that disappointment is not the same thing as devastation. Someone can reject you. A job can fall through. A relationship can end. A plan can fail. And you can still go home, eat your food, cry if you need to, sleep, wake up and continue your life. You are allowed to be disappointed without making it the end of your story.
