Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Quarterly Bulletin for April - June 2025 and PLFS Monthly Bulletin for July 2025

➡️ The LFPR in Current Weekly Status (CWS) for persons aged 15 years and above was 55.0% during April–June 2025, with 57.1% in rural areas and 50.6% in urban areas

➡️ LFPR in CWS for male of age 15 years and above in rural and urban areas were 78.4% and 75.1% respectively during April - June, 2025. LFPR among female of age 15 years and above for rural areas was 37.0% during the quarter April - June, 2025

➡️ Worker Population Ratio (WPR) in CWS among persons of age 15 years and above was 54.4% in rural areas. WPR in urban areas was 47.1% among persons of the same age group with the overall WPR at the country level observed as 52.0% during the quarter April - June, 2025

Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) conducted a Brainstorming Session on the Annual Survey of Services Sector Enterprises (ASSSE) recently in New Delhi. The session served as a collaborative platform for stakeholders from government, industry, and academia to refine the survey methodology and tools for the upcoming ASSSE, drawing insights from the recent Pilot Study.

Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to launching new surveys and increasing the frequency of key existing ones, such as the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) and the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE), in line with policy needs.

Around 100 participants from DPIIT, MSME, DEA, NITI Aayog, RBI, World Bank, TAG, academic institutions, industry associations, and trade bodies actively engaged in the discussions.

Consumer Price Index Numbers on Base 2012= 100 for Rural, Urban, and Combined for the month of June, 2025

Year-on-year inflation rate based on All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of June, 2025 over June, 2024 is 2.10% (Provisional)

There is decline of 72 basis points in headline inflation of June, 2025 in comparison to May, 2025. It is the lowest year-on-year inflation after January, 2019

The National Statistics Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), is conducting a nationwide survey on Household Health Expenditure from January to December 2025.
The survey collects information on the types of illnesses experienced, the medical treatments received, and the expenses incurred on treatments and vaccinations. It also covers the availability of health insurance within households and includes details related to maternal care, both before and after childbirth.
Citizens are kindly requested to cooperate with NSO enumerators and provide accurate information. Your responses are confidential and will remain anonymous in all reports and microdata published by MoSPI.

As part of the celebration of 75 years of the National Sample Survey (NSS), a photo gallery was inaugurated by Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI, on 30th June 2025 at NSO, FOD ,Sankhyiki Bhawan, New Delhi.
The photo gallery showcased a vibrant collection of photographs depicting key events and field activities and publicity initiatives undertaken for the celebration of the 75th year of NSS by all regional offices across the country. The gallery offers a compelling visual narrative of NSS and its dedicated survey work and awareness campaign aimed at garnering greater cooperation from the public for NSS surveys.
The event was graced by Smt. Geeta Singh Rathore, Director General (NSS), Shri Kishore Kumar, ADG (Coordination & Quality Control), Shri Salil Kumar Mukhopadhyay, ADG (Enterprise Survey), and senior officers from Zonal and Regional Offices of FOD.

Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) will conduct a nationwide Household Income Survey in 2026—the first of its kind—to collect detailed data on income distribution in India.

To guide this effort, MoSPI has constituted a Technical Expert Group (TEG) under the chairmanship of Dr. Surjit S. Bhalla, Former Executive Director for India at the International Monetary Fund. The TEG will support the National Statistics Office (NSO) in planning and executing the all-India income distribution survey, which is tentatively scheduled for 2026.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the National Sample Survey, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation recently organized a bike rally in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The rally was conducted by the officers and staff of the National Statistical Office to raise awareness among the general public about the nationwide surveys carried out by the NSO. During the rally, participants promoted public awareness through posters, banners, and slogans.
