Mexican animator Luis De La Rosa has sadly passed away at the age of 34 following an accident shortly after attending the Annecy Festival, where he presented his project, ‘Ash Raider World.’
He contributed to numerous animated projects throughout his career, including Knights of Guinevere, Into the Spider-Verse, and many more.
I don't think I've mentioned this before but this artist is the main and indirect reason I started drawing.
When I saw their art on a repost account on Facebook I liked their style so much on that moment that I shared it on my personal account and shared it with the caption "the only obstacle in my way is not having a drawing tablet", it was a joke + I was kinda broke and I couldn't ask it from my parents, you know. It was barely a hobby for me.
Later a friend dm'd me offering to gift me his drawing tablet that he no longer used. Ofc I accepted without hesitation and decided to return to drawing after many years and try again, and here I am. I usually joke about this kind of stories but it's a real one. This is the first time I've been somewhat successful compared to many previous times and I wanted to publicly thank this artist for inspiring me enough to share that post :D ♥️
As opposed to Copan the AI movie, Wildwood did take 15 years to make and it shows. The passion and artistry that was put into this project are unmistakable.
"every muslim has a duty to seek knowledge" and what makes tenmaku no jaadugar as so profound and endearing how it's about a slave girl that lost everything in a war rose to historically become chief advisor for her beloved empress
Some Japanese guy (as usual) worked laboriously for years against all odds to make this amazing anime, and sanghis promptly threatened violence and forced the government to ban its theatrical release. The English dub even had Bryan Cranston voicing Rama.
This was about learning how to move on.
People keep wanting answers when it’s just that. Terra wanted a different life and BB needed to let go.
Not everything works out the way we want.
