Bill C-22 forces tech companies to give the RCMP and CSIS access to your data WITHOUT A WARRANT.
Meta has warned that C-22 would turn their company into "an arm of the government's SURVEILLANCE APPARATUS."
Some tech companies have threatened to LEAVE CANADA entirely if this legislation passes.
And now the Liberals are SHUTTING DOWN DEBATE to try and FORCE one of the biggest invasions of privacy in Canadian history down your throat.
France, the UK, Canada, and 11 others banned kids from social media at nearly the same time, with nearly the same law.
If your government actually answered to you, its laws wouldn't arrive on the same schedule as thirteen others.
It should alarm every Canadian that the primary use the Liberals have made of their new, backroom, bribe-bought majority has been to ram through legislation that censors the internet, spies on citizens, and lays the groundwork for a virtual surveillance state.
Mark Carney claims he didn't say what said.
The backpedal:
"To be clear, if you look at the speech, I've never advocated that all of a sudden there was going to be a band of middle powers, you know, the M20 or something like that."
The facts:
"I argue the middle powers must act together because if we're not at the table, we're on the menu... in a world of great power rivalry, the countries in between have a choice: compete with each other for favour or to combine to create a third path with impact."
Another day, another spin.
🚨Other G7 leaders face their parliament.
Other G7 leaders take opposition questions.
Other G7 leaders answer to voters.
Carney answers to Davos.
Carney answers to Brookfield.
Carney answers to no one in Ottawa.
This isn’t leadership. It’s occupation.

🇨🇦 PM @MarkJCarney is under pressure to dump his Brookfield holdings after the CEO admitted Carney still profits from the success of almost 2,000 Brookfield firms .. none of which go through ethics screens.
That’s not a blind trust.
That’s a spotlight on conflict of interest.

No, I don’t think you can do that.
I don’t think you can noisily welcome Omar Artan, a Somali with ties to Islamic terrorists on Wednesday, and then on Thursday give condolences for a policeman murdered by Islamic terrorists. You have to choose.

The Liberals' Bill C-34 is a boomer plan to censor the internet, writes Jamie Sarkonak.

Correction: Most Authoritarian.
• C-8: Without a court order, govt can cut you off from the internet
• C-9: Criminalizes speech online
• C-22: Keep a year of metadata of everything you do online
• C-34: Requires ID checks to use social media
This social media ban for teens under 16 in Canada is wild considering the Parlimentary committee recommended in 2023 to expand MAID to "mature minors" which is 14 - 18.
So to the Canadian government, no social media at age 14, but yes to MAID use?
How does that make sense.
Canada is banning children under 16 from social media — which sounds compassionate.
But, children under 16 don't have IDs. ADULTS do. To prove you're over 16 you must show your ID online — which gets tied to your IP address.
Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Canada are all doing the same thing. This is not child protection. This is a digital identity system that lets them track every citizen online — and shut you down if you post against the narrative.
Mark Carney's manufactured majority government has consequences for all Canadians. Our freedom is under attack.
No matter what the polls say, the reality is that voters had their say and DID NOT give Carney a majority government.
He should never be allowed to ram all these censorship & surveillance Bills through.
