Heartbreaking! She took her life because she 'didn't have the courage' to retake NEET after the paper leak.
When will people (and parents) realise that becoming a doctor in India isn't worth the insane pressure, debt & broken dreams for most?
I guess only the ones who have entered this stream are the ones to realise that it wasn't worth the struggle and sacrifices!

Akanksha Chaturvedi, a NEET aspirant, died by suicide.
"Mai sab kuchh barbaad kr di aap dono ka
Read her last words, you will cry!!
"Mummy Papa, you believed your daughter would study and become a doctor. But I do not have the courage to take the NEET exam again. I have ruined both of you. There is no guarantee that I will perform well if I appear for the examination again."
Someone please stop these suicides!🙏
FAIMA urges the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to expedite the NEET SS 2025 counselling process. The delay, which has been pushed from April 7th to July 28th due to legal proceedings, is causing immense distress, unemployment, and financial hardship for aspirants. Additionally, these postponements are impacting public health by leading to a shortage of qualified specialists. We request MCC to take swift action to resolve these delays, ensuring timely placement of aspirants and safeguarding the quality of healthcare services for the public.

Today is World Liver Day 2026.
Here are 8 things your liver actually wants you to know.
1
There is no such thing as a "liver detox."
Your liver runs phase I and II detoxification 24/7 on its own.
No juice cleanse, no milk thistle, no herbal detox speeds this up.
In fact several have caused liver injury - the opposite of the claim.
2
Alcohol has no safe dose.
Liver harm begins from the first drink.
The old "moderate drinking is protective" myth came from flawed studies contaminated by abstainer bias - now debunked by Mendelian randomization.
Zero ml is best.
3
"Natural" supplements are now a leading cause of acute liver failure.
Ashwagandha. Green tea extract. Garcinia. Kratom. High-dose turmeric. Giloy/Tinospora.
They dominate drug-induced liver injury registries across India, the US, and Europe.
Natural ≠ safe.
4
Coffee is genuinely liver-protective.
2–3 cups/day (caffeinated or decaf) lowers the risk of fibrosis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
One of the very few dietary interventions with real, replicated evidence.
5
Fatty liver (MASLD) now affects ~1 in 3 adults worldwide.
A 7–10% body-weight loss:
• clears Liver fat
• reduces inflammation
• can regress early fibrosis
No approved drug currently beats this. Your plate and feet are the first-line therapy.
6
Sugar-sweetened drinks independently cause fatty liver.
Fructose is metabolized almost entirely by the liver - straight into fat.
One daily soda raises MASLD risk even after adjusting for total calories.
Lesser is better.
7
Get vaccinated against hepatitis B. Get screened for HBV and HCV at least once in your lifetime.
HBV vaccine prevents >95% of chronic infection, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
Hepatitis C is curable in 8-12 weeks with >95% success - but most carriers don't know they have it.
8
Exercise protects the liver independent of weight loss.
150 min/week moderate OR 75 min vigorous activity reduces liver fat and stiffness - even when the scale doesn't move.
Movement is "medicine".

PS: we also need a liver emoji
So I booked a Rapido for a ride to the city around 4-5 pm. Captain called me to ask the destination and immediately asked for near double the amount at which the ride was booked, i politely denied and asked him to cancel. Now it has been around 2+ hours and the driver is still roaming around with the ride waiting to be started.
Meanwhile I booked another ride via someone's phone and reached destination already.
Is it going to be helpful to the driver/captain if he doesn't cancel the ride?
And how long does it take for rapido to get notified about it so they cancel it themselves because captain appears to be adamant to drop me at his terms @rapidobikeapp @Uber@Uber_India@Olacabs
@ShivrattanDhil1 There are other apps like static or jio pulse bp which are available too on that route as far as I remember. Tata power is expensive comparatively with very poor service, i have faced similar issues with their app hence completely stopped using it. Static is best of all I think.
I once ordered a gyser from Amazon, it was a festival sale at that time, when the delivery came, it was in a 2 x 1 feet box and it was very light weight, it wasn't an open box delivery but I refused to accept it as there is no way a gyser would fit into such a small box. I refused to accept, the delivery guy then opened the box in front of me and it was a chinese mop inside. Later I got the refund instead of order. Sale wasted!
Back in 2013, during my MBBS, i had colleagues with as low as 110-180 marks studying with me at the state's best medical college while I got there scoring 600+. Now we set new benchmark as the years passby.
So Why risk letting someone with 600+ marks touch a scalpel when we can have a true visionary who scraped together 4 whole marks out of 800 fixing your mom's hip?
I literally see patients suffering because of this specific issue but they themselves have no idea as to what's wrong and we can't speak regarding this for obvious reasons.
There was this time when picking MS Ortho used to be one of the most prestigious thing. Only top rankers used to get that.
Now someone with 4/800 marks has got that. These doctors are going to operate you & your relatives after 3 years.
@RajeshwariRW Make compulsory to add the overall percentile scored in NEET exams so that patients can choose beyond just the degrees because degree holders can be anyone in this situation.
Residency tip:
Don’t confuse professionalism with over-friendliness.
The day you start doing personal works for a consultant, a boundary is crossed.
Initially you’ll be praised.
The day you’re exhausted and say no, you’ll be treated worse than someone who never helped at all.
So stay strictly professional.
Do your assigned work honestly.
Don’t put yourself in a position where refusing personal favors later becomes a big problem.
I faced similar things couple of weeks ago, ordered from @Swiggy, the order was initially delayed and got cancelled because driver informed to the Swiggy help that he had an accident on the way.
Swiggy support then placed the repeat order for me and surprisingly, the other delivery partner was involved in an accident too.
And then the Swiggy support informs me that as it was a replacement order, refund can not be issued.
So I was left with no food, money lost and a waste of 2 hours.
It doesn't stop there, jobs, promotions it's everywhere, be it a medical colleges or in district hospitals, or be it a community health centre or a PHC. The only thing spared in NEET SS exam. And as per the current trends of the govt., it won't be surprising to see this happening in SS exam too.
