Latest @royalsociety report that replacing jet fuel with biomass would require 50% of the UK's agricultural land. In the midst of food shortages, does this mean zero chance of Jet Zero?
Replacing the fuel in UK planes ✈️ with hydrogen would require more than 2x as much renewable power as the country currently generates.
This rises to 5x as much for other alternative fuels.
And we would still need a whole electricity system to power everything else...
