Theatre Club

Like a book group but for innovative contemporary theatre - @theatreclubfa hosted amazing conversation at @farnhammaltings & @teamwesty for five fabulous years

Theatre Club Farnham & Aldershot, as was, is closing (being lucky enough to now work at @teamwesty, @AshcroftArts & @ForestArtsNM, it's a little tricky). Give me @bridget_flo a shout if you're interested in seeing & talking about theatre at any of those venues. In the meantime...

Clearly it's not all that's on - check out the venue websites for much much more - and hope you're as excited as I am that live performance is back. Here's to sitting in a dark room and being told stories once again. 🍻🥳

And you really must catch @MsJoNeary & @benmoor in a double bill on the 16 Dec - @benmoor's Coelacanth (2005, oh my) is one of the best stories I've ever been told #MoreTreesToClimb https://t.co/F0fy24JhDi

A reminder that it’s the Unknown Island, from the amazing @GateTheatre, to watch for Wednesday night’s Theatre Club - the last in this series, we’ll be back after the summer! Free to join us for Zoom chat, BYO drinks and snacks! 😜

Very lovely conversation this evening about #ReasonstobeCheerful, @graeae’s heartwarming coming of age story. Somehow naughty, raucous and sweet all at the same time. Next up in a fortnight is The Unknown Island, a “bewitching” hour-long intimate @GateTheatre adaptation

I have wanted to see this show for AGES, and kept missing out, so even more excited that now I get to talk about it with @TheatreClubFA afterwards. Directed by the legend @GraeaeJennyS, a @graeae production... trying to stay unbiased... 😂

Join us for our next Theatre Club on the 10th June, hosted by @teamwesty - it's like a book club but you don't need to be a member! This week we're watching #ReasonstobeCheerful @Graeae, a raucous musical featuring the hits of Ian Drury & the Blockheads. https://t.co/rnmiEE93Um

Watched #wisechildren by @Wise_Children last night, filmed at @YorkTheatre in 2019. I shouldn’t say anything before we discuss it tomorrow night but am itching to... can’t wait till tomorrow’s #TheatreClub

[Theatre Club @TheatreClubFA]

We've got our second Theatre Club this Wednesday evening, hosted as ever by @teamwesty - this time the ebulliant theatrical production of #WiseChildren by Emma Rice, filmed at @YorkTheatre in 2019, available on BBC iPlayer.

It was so good tonight to see some familiar faces at Theatre Club. Just wishing everyone had managed to get in! We had our usual wide ranging discussion. Now I have to find time to watch @Wise_Children’s #WiseChildren - but looking forward to it, have heard such good things

[Theatre Club @TheatreClubFA]

Our first lockdown Theatre Club was lovely - but huge apologies to those who couldn’t get in the meeting. Please book again - we’ll try and sort the issues out for next time!

[Theatre Club @TheatreClubFA]

Yay!

[Allan @mysocalledbrain]

I'll be there! #TheatreClub

[Bridget Floyer @bridget_flo]

It’s not too late to join us. It’s definitely an experiment, but we hope it’ll be a fun one...
