#Mulamindset
Three students were recognised today for their creativity and participation in the #Mulamindset Financial Literacy Holiday Programme, a joint initiative by the Government and ICPAR, that started in the concluding holidays.

The programme helped S4–S6 students build practical money skills – from budgeting and saving to starting small income projects. Through quizzes, podcasts, comics, and storytelling, students explored how to manage money in real life.

Each of the top three students received school fee support and materials worth Rwf 100,000 and computer. The @REBRwanda Multimedia Studio will continue to be a space for young people to learn and create – not just during holidays, but all year round.

The Holiday Remedial Teaching and Learning Program 2025 is officially underway.

Over the coming weeks, targeted support will be provided to P1–P5 learners across the country to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

This intervention is part of #Rwanda ’s continued commitment to improving learning outcomes and reducing repetition rates through structured, school-based support.

Implementation will run from July 21 to August 26, 2025.

Earlier today, Minister @JoNsengimana met with senior representatives from the State University of New York (SUNY), one of the largest comprehensive university system in the United States. The meeting marked the conclusion of a two-day visit by a high-level SUNY delegation, which included university presidents and senior academic leaders. The visit aimed to explore potential academic partnerships under the SUNY Africa Initiative.

The Minister said the partnership aligns with Rwanda’s Vision 2050, which prioritizes a skilled and future-ready workforce. He welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing that the government values such partnerships as key drivers in achieving its national development goals.

“To achieve that vision, we must ensure that we have a workforce capable of delivering on it,” he said. “Collaborations like this bring significant value to the country and help us build the Rwanda we want and deserve.”

Key highlights:

✅ Reforming secondary education: Rigid subject combinations are being replaced by three broad pathways — Sciences, Humanities, and Languages — to improve flexibility and career readiness.

✅ Reducing overcrowding & repetition: Many lower primary schools operate on double shifts, limiting learning time. A revised curriculum now supports fewer lessons per day to improve quality teaching.

✅ Focusing on foundational learning: Early education is prioritized, with a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, science, and ICT.

✅ Boosting preschool enrolment: The government plans to raise preschool access from 45% to 65%, with expanded infrastructure and support for young learners.

✅ Improving assessments: National and international assessments will be used to measure learning, alongside regular classroom evaluations.

✅ Supporting teachers: The reforms include new training, improved English proficiency, and better alignment with the updated curriculum.

✅ Engaging parents: Parents are encouraged to play a stronger role in supporting learning, both at home and through school collaboration.

✅ Connecting learning to jobs: New initiatives will link students to the world of work through career guidance and internships.

Today marked the official start of the 2024/2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
The Minister of Education, @JoNsengimana, and the Minister of State, @ClaudetteIrere, launched the examinations at GS Institute Filipo Simaldone in Nyarugenge District and Sainte Ignace in Gasabo District, respectively.

A total of 220,840 candidates—100,219 boys and 120,621 girls—are sitting for the exams nationwide. The examinations will run from June 30 to July 3, 2025.

The schedule is as follows:

Monday, June 30: Mathematics, Ikinyarwanda
Wednesday, July 2: English, Social & Religious Studies
Thursday, July 3: Science, Elementary Technology

This morning, the Minister of State, @ClaudetteIrere , joined @AIMS_Rwanda to celebrate the 2024/2025 graduating cohort. Representing 14 African countries, 44 brilliant graduates—including 16 remarkable women—have completed their Master’s in Mathematical Sciences. Their journey reflects the promise of a continent driven by talent, knowledge, and determination.

Today, a special awarding ceremony was held by @RwandaPolytec and RTB to hand over laptops donated by De Lorenzo to the nine gold medal winners of the recently concluded National Skills Competition 2025.
The awards recognize outstanding performance in skill areas aligned with De Lorenzo’s core business, including programming, electrical installations, mechanical engineering, automotive technology, and mechatronics.
