Dude seriously asked me if I had a different set of degrees would I still have had a problem getting work because of my color.
I walked into an interview with a Master's in genetics and bioinformatics, having graduated with honors, and was told by the pale
Correction: the Africa of 400 years ago INFLUENCED the Africans who would go on to form an entirely new culture in a new country. Black Americans haven't been African in 400 years and owe nothing to the people who sold their ancestors. This is like a bio dad
How can a person be so lacking in comprehension that they don't comprehend "go away", and still be allowed near the internet? I swear, people do shit on Twitter that would get them shot irl.
It shouldn't be difficult to grasp that black Americans are not African. We have only traits of Africa in our society after 400 years here, and lack any tribal connections to those in Africa, and have further developed a culture that does not fit any of
@isseyorgam Having said that, YOU can call yourself whatever the hell YOU want. YOU don't speak for me. K? Leave me the fuck out of it, and leave me the fuck alone. Have a lovely evening.
@isseyorgam You lack comprehension. Don't say that you don't, because you just stated something I did and tried to invert it to prove a point that you can't. Also, who even are you? What part of this is your lane when you're not being addressed?
@Thedevilyoukn11 There are non-ADOS blacks who get it, and Flag Twitter *has started to clean up its language. (I do a daily search for tweets containing โakataโ and this word appears less frequently than it did before, a behavior change I suspect was probably prompted by Trumpโs Travel Ban.)
@guang_lie I was always taught there are only two ways to deal with such things; they're just unmentionable. It can be done, though. And I'm sure it will be.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, dragging out this 'we're all African' line every 2 minutes has no reason other than to try and erase other black peoples cultures. We all have African HERITAGE, having african heritage and being african are not the same.
@guang_lie And she likely won't be around much longer with the growing distrust of the black American community towards the caucus. I wanna see what the people will do before I show my own hand. Btw, do you have a name for this person?
@guang_lie I never saw more than the 3 or 4 who showed occasionally. But any en masse change can be attributed to the fact that they'll need us to push for them to be allowed back. They have no allies within the us save the naturalized who aren't enough to sway things.
@guang_lie Indeed, that's possible. But I'm going to choose to hold a little bit of hope that there may yet be a reason to keep this app. If this is the start of a shift that might make interaction with them better, then there's still use for it. Otherwise, not.
Suffice to say that I belong to a group of about 500 black American magicians who are doing the Work. This started about two months ago. Today I have seen no less than 4 stories about two ongoing projects, and I couldn't be happier.
I start making analyses of the way the alcohol has altered my bodily and psychological functions.things like noting aloud that my body is moving 42ยฐ to the left of where my center of vision is.
@joy_g_turner Yes. I don't talk about what I don't know/what doesn't interest me, don't talk to others unless they're in my business or I consider them worth talking to, and I'm far more aggro in person. I'm pretty much a misanthropic & violently antisocial individual.
Where yโall think black Caribbean people came from?... we know our history and that a lot of our culture originated in Africa. Itโs the same as African American culture. After all these centuries, folks have adapted and made things their own.
Move along.
