Kind of wild how we went from "casual gamers are real gamers" to "the term 'gamer' is so toxic that it needs to be gotten rid of," and now we're at "if you've ever called a game 'woke,' you're not a true gamer."
@AgreeingBook13 There's a certain amount of balance with weight and pacing in Kratos' dialogue that actually makes it work.
Ragnarok starts to kind of lose it's sauce as it follows Atreus and other characters a bit more.
@Critical_Scribe Very good way of putting it.
I had a hard time thinking of a way to describe it, but the pacing and weight in dialogue being balanced in 2018 compared to Ragnarok, and speculatively Laufey.
Is a good way of tracking the shift in the games with each release.
In light of current discourse, there is definitely a difference to the feel of 2018’s writing compared to Ragnarok and in STARK contrast to Laufey.
There was just a weight there to 2018 that was ever present and really let you feel what Kratos was going through.
Ragnarok was a good game, but something about it lacked the sort of sauce that 2018 had. There was your serious dialogue, but it relied too much on making characters just not responding to keep going.
Freya was a large example, because she was allowed to just say anything with little to no push back and whenever a character was “in grief” it was like some sort of superpower where no one could tell them they were being ridiculous.
2018 had balance to it all, which Ragnarok didn’t, and now Laufey has dropped even further with its deliver and presentation.
This isn’t because Laufey is about Faye, it’s because what she’s working with feels worse.
And yes I can make that judgement based on what was shown to me. They chose to show it to me, I can judge it.
Actions speak louder than words.
Here's a video of feminists disrupting a conference for male suicide victims, and another one of them disrupting a conference for male victims of domestic violence.
Feminists have also worked to cover up evidence of symmetry in domestic violence perpetration between men and women to prop up the debunked "patriarchal dominance" theory that promotes the idea that men are always aggressors and women are always victims, and they have also actively advocated against the funding of shelters for male domestic violence victims.
Idk about you, but the "Everywhen" is probably one of the most creatively bankrupt names for a setting in the afterlife.
Tutorial cube Quaid and the emotional support ribbons are likely just their for comic relief and maybe a toy model in the "deluxe edition" copies.
Fingers crossed, I'm wrong, and the cube and ribbons aren't just there to regurgitate Marvel humor the entire game while going "Woah you should do x, that's like kind of bad oof".
