Good morning, Africans.
As we go about our business today, let us remember that not every South African is xenophobic, Afrophobic, or uses derogatory terms to dehumanise fellow Black Africans.
The silent majority consists of decent, self-respecting and respectful South Africans, like Brian โZuluboyโ Majazi, who treat others with dignity and humanity. It is important that we never judge an entire nation by the actions of a hateful and ignorant minority.
No sane African supports illegal immigration or criminality. Equally, no sane African should ever use derogatory terms such as โkwerekwereโ, โzaizaiโ, or โamashanganeโ to insult fellow Africans.
Using slurs to dehumanise other Africans is unacceptable. It is no different in principle from apartheid-era racists using the word โkaffirโ to dehumanise Black South Africans. We cannot condemn one form of dehumanisation while excusing another.
#NDRSeminar Mbeki: We made a mistake in 2008 in Government, there was no Xenophobic attacks here , there was an intelligence report that spoke to this. We should have declassified that report. #sabcnews
