☃️ Current weather #COwx for the San Juan Range in Rio Grande National Forest (8,700' foot elevation). There's about 1.5" inch accumulation of heavy/wet snow fallen over the past hour. ❄️
3 years & 4 months after twisting the top off of a store-bought pineapple fruit, water propagating for roots, then planting it inside in a soil filled pot in my window, I have a new pineapple fruit growing... Hopefully by fall, this will be edible. 🍍
In late September, I put a pineapple🍍 top into water in hopes that it’d root & I could grow a pineapple plant. My pineapple plant now has tiny roots growing 😃. The avocado seed 🥑 rooting next to it still hasn’t grown a stem yet. 🤷♂️

Almost 2 years later, here’s the same avocado tree 🥑 (3’4”/102cm) and pineapple bush 🍍(2’3”/68.5cm) today. They both are still growing great indoors. #PandemicPlantLife 🌱
Living in a rural area, there's no wildlife rehabs nearby, so i contacted US Fish & Wildlife and am waiting on a callback for assistance in getting this bird taken in. Local veterinarians can't help it due to funding regulations. I'm getting too attached to this little bird.
Found this little bird under a tree next to two deceased siblings. Unsure how long it's been there. No nest or parents seen/heard. Found at 9,000' ft elevation in San Juan Range of southern Colorado. Any twitter birders happen to know an ID and its primary food source? #birding
After stratifying store bought Honeycrisp Apple seeds in my refrigerator for 3 months, then planting them 3 weeks ago, I now have 4 apple tree seedlings & more still sprouting. These supposedly grow well in colder outdoor climates, like where I live, so I’m very happy.
One of my carnivorous drosera/sundew plants is growing it’s first ever flower stalks. These grow high, far up from the sticky leaves below, so that pollinators may easily access the flower without being trapped & eaten by the plant.

At least 12” inches (over 30 cm) of snow has fallen here since yesterday morning. Power only went out twice overnight, thankfully. Lots of weighted down tree branches everywhere. Hopefully they don’t break. ❄️ #COwx
About 8 or 9” inches (21-23cm) of snowfall so far this afternoon, and still falling heavily. There was no snow on the ground here this morning. #COwx ❄️ #DoYouWannaBuildASnowman
I don’t know if this is classified as a snow squall or a light blizzard, but it’s cold and pretty. There are lots of fallen tree/branches and plenty of snow drifts are forming. Wind and snow are always a fun combination. 💨 ❄️ #COwx
