4 years ago I started going viral on social media. I was working at a BBQ smokehouse at the time. All these famous people started following me and it was pretty wild this was happening to me as i was just a small town kid barely gettin by in life. Well the first big invite I had was when Cody Johnson’s manager reached out to me and invited me to a show so I could meet Cody and the band. Well I couldn’t go because I had to work and my job needed me. Everybody told me I was a dumbass so I prayed about it. Soon after that I took a chance and quit my job. Fast forward to now and I finally got to go see and meet one of my favorite country singers and it was a full circle moment for me. My favorite song by him is ‘Til You Can’t’ and it resonates with me because of that moment in my life when I took a chance! Since then I have lived out my dreams and had opportunities I could never dream of. So if anybody is at a cross roads in their life or wanting to turn the page to the next chapter … take a chance! ..Chase your dreams! No matter what it is! You have one life to live so live it how you want to! If I can do it then so can you! 🫵🏻
Pat McAfee just spent two hours answering questions from young journalists, content creators, and fans.
Not one-word responses...thought-out answers.
Radio Row can be intimidating if it’s your first time and you don’t have talent booked. You’re relying on right place, right time...hoping someone gives you a shot.
Most will not give you a second unless they are being paid or know there is some return for their time.
Not only is Pat providing incredible content, but he is giving someone the confidence boost they need to approach that next individual.
After an interview with a college journalist, Pat asked them for their name, to which he responded, "Nice to meet you, I'm Pat."
The world of content is a business, but at the end of the day, we are all human.
Be like Pat McAfee.
