Tamil Nadu govt has reportedly allocated ₹755.83 crore to give a 1-gram gold ring to every newborn in government hospitals.

A gold ring for every newborn.

This is not welfare. This is taxpayer-funded election jewellery.

Hospitals need doctors, nurses, ICU beds, medicines, neonatal care, ambulances and clean wards not gold-ring politics.

When public health needs investment, wasting hundreds of crores on symbolic freebies is daylight robbery of taxpayers’ hard-earned money.
