I said he was just another puppet bankrolled by crypto whales and big exchanges… that he might deliver on maybe 15% of the promises… and that people should mute the political noise and focus on trading instead of getting played by engagement farmers.

Here’s the fact check as of June 2026:

What actually happened:

• Gary Gensler was gone within days of inauguration. Paul Atkins (much more crypto-friendly) took over as SEC Chair by April 2025. The aggressive “regulation by enforcement” era ended. Many cases were dropped or settled.

• Trump signed an Executive Order on March 6, 2025 creating the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (funded by seized/forfeited BTC, currently holding ~328k+ BTC). He also created a broader Digital Asset Stockpile.

• He pardoned Ross Ulbricht and CZ.

• The GENIUS Act (stablecoin framework) was signed in July 2025.

• CBDC development was blocked and “Operation Choke Point 2.0” style pressure on crypto was rolled back.

So on the big headline promises (fire Gensler + Strategic Bitcoin Reserve), he actually delivered more than I expected at the time.

What I still stand by: The core point was correct… politicians are heavily influenced by the same big money and exchanges that fund campaigns. A lot of the early hype was engagement farming, and many of those accounts faded or moved on once the real work (and real volatility) began.

The best decision most traders made was muting the political circus and staying focused on price action, risk management, and stacking consistent GAINZ instead of betting on political narratives.
