Join @lrigsualberta on Thursday for an exciting talk about Biodiversity Offsetting with Dave Poulton. Looking forward to discussing the intersections of market-based instruments and land reclamation. #reclamation#ualberta#environment#biodiversity
Tiny creatures teeming in the dirt under our feet could help provide a fuller picture of how well land reclamation efforts are working. #UAlberta#LandReclamation#ecology@UofAALES@ua_futureenergy @CFREF_APOGEE

Our planet is being damaged, and this earth doctor's prescription is more creepy crawlers!
Join @ThemStem for a discussion on why bugs and other things that crawl in the dirt are so essential for land reclamation.
Just listened to a rerun of @AlbertaatNoon (aired June 28) with @DrJenGunter. Listener asked how to support their wife during menopause.
Host: well this is obviously a male listener....
Thank you Dr. Gunter for using the term partner when answering. CBC do better. #LGBTQIA#Yeg
On #PrideInSTEM day, we're proud to celebrate all LGBTQ+ researchers making important contributions in our energy research. Meet one of our amazing experts, Stephanie Ibsen @ThemStem, who is studying how to measure the recovery of sites being reclaimed https://t.co/vnRs4dlFS3
@nyllaplanifolia@ABLandInstitute The sessions are so good!!! Diverse presenters and topics- so much to learn about. The intersections of different fields with land reclamation is exciting 😀
I worked with a publication team at the @ABLandInstitute to summarize the ridiculously interesting 8 part web series "Land Use 2021: A Place for Biodiversity Offsets". Land reclamation intersects with so many fields and I learned a ton... check it out

What a great @ua_futureenergy session on #Landscapes. I got to introduce the hero we never knew we needed... #soil#invertebrates. Spiderman is so last year and doesn't even have 8 legs!!! Check out the remaining sessions this week and posters at #FESResearchShowcase.
@KTam_Iceberg@ua_futureenergy Predatory mites commonly have modified mouthparts called chelicerae. They will use these pincers to grab/rip apart/pierce their prey. Also the predators are usually not so tiny.... better double check your soil 😬😬
Science is for everyone and we need more 2SLGBTQ+ representation in STEM- thank you to @TWoSEdm for fighting the good fight #nonbinary#STEM#theminstem

Ever wondered what walks along the soil surface? In my reclamation sites it's A LOT of beetles!! Learn more about the role soil invertebrates in land reclamation by checking out my poster in the #UalbertaInnovationShowcase#UAlbertaInnovationShowcaseFES
@richardson_beth We have two reclamation sites that have not yet been certifiably reclaimed. Reclamation Site #1 had soil placed and planting in 2009. Reclamation Site #2 had all of this done in 2011.
Did you know that more than 90 percent of all living animal species are invertebrates? Yet we know so little about them! Want to learn about soil invertebrates and the science behind land reclamation?
