It's funny the Jewish community is being accused of trying to control everything, but I can't remember the last time a Jewish person tried to force their religion on me, or govern the country based on what THEY believe in.
What % better would Dimitrov’s serve have needed to have been, in order to make his career more…linearly analogous to what wath foretolde? It can be argued that the shoulder Or the brain was the reason for the DFs, sure, but realistically, both, & I posit only 5% better = 2GS
@tomtomorrow The journalism we rely on while the Titanic is run aground on the iceberg, as we fiddle and live on thawing cruise shrimp in the intervening years before the sea level rises enough for us to drown
Shelton more in-your-face wow-power, but Svajda’s ability to vary depth, pace, and altitude is Nasty, and then he is flattening out Goffinian backhand blasts, basically Never missing them. Incredible accuracy and pace. One game from the win
Svajda leveling up here. He’s now matching Shelton’s highest-paced blasts, & his footwork really is DeMinauran, plus facially, strokewise, it really is uncanny. A hard slog, creating modern pace w’ shorter levers, but decent trade off on slow hard courts if he can move this well
Svajda takes the 2nd 6-2 and we’re goin’ 3 in Tiburon, the diminutive De-Minauran San Diegan’s legs making the long-point difference under the scalding Californian sun as the 6’4” Shelton’s power game gets harder to execute
Me, driving painstakingly slowly at the perimeter street of a bustling college campus at 5 PM: “Ugh, I don’t want to kill these kids, they got their whole lives ahead of them”
@ElliottJMR@JLR78 (I think it’s not a little because of The War, too. He’s been super on the brink ever since it began, which makes tons of sense to me; he has no good options relative to condoning or condemning it while existing in a worldwide tour year-round)
@tennisnation (Also seems possible that we will see a tennis future w’ 2 hands on both sides for returns And 2 one-hand forehands, an elite funneling of ambidexterity into the sport, ability to serve w’ either hand, to evade the sun, break rhythms, exploit weaknesses)
