@spo9globoob REM is crucial for emotion regulation.
Personally, I really notice that mood-wise it’s much easier to miss the start of my sleep window than the end of it.
@spo9globoob If you’re serious, this is likely about losing REM sleep. REM happens disproportionately at the end of our sleep window. If you’d adapted to a late window, then a big fraction of your REM is scheduled for after 8am. Until you readapt, waking up that early will deprive you of it.
@brutenheimer@activity_no How many times do these charts need to circulate before people internalise them. 130 puts you above the 90th percentile for all the kinds of engineers included
@seanluomdphd@rruetigger@ubiquitousnewt I don’t think that’s likely to explain all the variance in those traits
Anyway, you’re needlessly hostile and seem strangely emotionally invested in this, so I’m out
@seanluomdphd@rruetigger@ubiquitousnewt I don’t think the Ivy League is a good way to test this idea. They’re pretty strongly selected for conformity and status-seeking
@anshulkundaje Entirely agree. But the subtext here is Piffer. Do you have the expertise to judge that his papers are shitty or are you taking the word of some others on here?
@RegimeEnforcer@nmancuso_ I don’t have the expertise to really evaluate whether that’s true. But Piffer himself has articulated clearly why that wouldn’t be a reason to erase his work from the record. If it’s so bad, explain why it’s been superseded in the articles that address the same questions.
