@VodafoneUK I’d be happy to get the £200 plus you owe me from months ago and I’m still waiting for. You agreed I’ve overpaid but this is again my weekly chasing day to hear the same excuses.
@Karlfl@voiceofthePM Thats if you want to ignore the FoI warning around reliability of data and fail to understand that pre Horizon numbers have to be hashed from regional and district data as opposed to a more robust central database that existed post Horizon.
@DiegoFuego71@JohnHyde1982 Imagine and this is a wild one granted that significant volume of offences were being identified before Capture and Horizon - wonder what the relevance would be of that?
@james_christie You worked on many franchisee cases whereby, effectively, the franchise holder was responsible for staff losses included dishonesty and genuine errors?
@JohnHyde1982@AlastairTaff I may be wrong but thought some overturned convictions included admitted theft cases where Horizon product was used to evidence total loss?
@AlastairTaff@JohnHyde1982 There were significant volumes of prosecutions pre Horizon and pre Capture - it’s simply not possible that a fancy new IT system ended pockets of dishonesty.
@HMRCcustomers It’s a specific query - now hit through to the right department - of course the calculation has to be sent to me by snail mail within 10 days - whilst you force every single action a taxpayer wants to take down an electronic route HMRC have to rely on Royal Mail - shambolic.
@RevRichardColes Wholly inaccurate figures as a number of witnesses have stated. The figures represent a move from localised, incomplete, records (when investigations were regionally structured) to centrally held (hence the increase) - there were significant levels of prosecutions pre-Horizon.
@JulieDo17311344@BladeoftheS It has also deliberately failed to attempt to unearth the levels of dishonesty pre-Horizon - which a number of witnesses have touched on. If it doesn’t fit the narrative then it’s of no relevance seemingly.
@implausibleblog And again a repeat of the narrative that pre-Horizon internal dishonesty was an unknown. The Inquiry had no desire at all to hear the pre-Horizon truth from any of the witnesses.
@Milo_Brennan@implausibleblog A key weakness of the Inquiry is failing to unearth detail around pre-Horizon dishonesty. Were historic cases the reason why so many senior managers didn’t believe postmaster accounts?
@bencooper@TheFamousArtBR Haven’t studies shown that you are more likely to get support and intervention if there is only a single bystander as apposed to hoards?
@annetteinfrance They will be reliant on district, regional and national detail dependant on decade. The older records are not available I suspect. But, to ignore the wrongdoing pre-Horizon (sizeable) will fail to explain the consistent witness mindset of why Postmasters were not believed.
@csljohnkirby Why is there no mention of the not insignificant volume of cases pre Horizon? Surely this would have had a basis for not immediately believing Postmaster accounts.
