I've been away from social media for some weeks as I've been in sacred healing rituals. I'll be starting to share over the coming days. It's important for me that the sharing doesn't start too soon as it can block the processing.
"This is a rare opportunity to meet Susi, hear about her experience as the first Yoga Therapist in the NHS, how she has brought Trauma Informed Yoga into psychiatric inpatient care, rape crisis centres and prisons. You can come along with questions or just listen and be inspired"

I’m very proud this week to have supported football v homophobia. This movement aims to make football welcoming of LGBTQ+ people.
I play in a league that’s open to non-binary people, trans people and women @TheAFLeague#footballvhomophobia#fvh
Did you know that our functional IQ is impacted by safety? IQ can effectively by halved when we are in a state of terror, which is a common state for trauma survivors.

This carries through to trauma sensitive work too - if you're a yoga teacher, are there times you assume gender when you address a whole group? Eg 'good evening ladies.' What terms could you use instead that are gender neutral?
I loved that at the start of our football match the ref got both teams in a circle to say our pronouns. Great work @TheAFLeague in creating a gender inclusive space where people, some of whom may be carrying wounds around gender identity, don't get misgendered.
Misgendering: referring to someone by the wrong pronouns eg he/him instead of she/her or they/them.
It takes some intention not to automatically shout 'come on boys/girls/lads'. And if you do, it's cool to shout an apology and new offering eg 'sorry, I mean team/friends/people'
I've had my first Compassionate Inquiry meeting about the year long internship and I have that familiar overwhelm. What's different is the inner voice that's telling me it's ok, that I don't need it all to make sense right away. There's time.
I met with all the tutors from the 2022 training to review what went well and look at how we can make it EVEN BETTER this year! 💪
