The extent of Iranian influence and strategic depth in Pakistan is hardly talked about. Many who should be talking about it avoid it over fear of accusations of sectarianism. But it's no joke. It exists and it is quite powerful.
BREAKING: Saudi Arabia has evacuated and closed its international airport in Riyadh after a missile attack by Yemen’s Houthis killed at least 12 people and left dozens injured.
President Trump is now saying the US could join Saudi strikes on the Houthis in light of the airport attack.
The international left (Created in substantial measure in Moscow, BTW) is sensing a hammer about to drop. They are moving first. BTW @zriboua is worth every moment of your time when she writes. I let a BBC monitoring subscription lapse and now I just read her on the Russians in Africa.
Setting aside the longstanding taboo against naming capital ships after living people and the fact that he never served can someone explain why we're naming a nuclear aircraft carrier after this man?
JUST IN: Forces tied to Erik Prince’s Vectus Global were ambushed in South Kivu in Congo on September 17 while moving between locations, Reuters reported today.
About 20 people were killed or wounded, including at least seven Congolese and a former New Zealand SAS operator. Former UFC fighter and Green Beret Tim Kennedy was also wounded.
Sources said the attack’s sophistication points to Rwandan forces backing M23 (March 23 Movement), the main rebel group fighting the Congolese army. One government source said those forces may have tracked a Vectus surveillance drone to the team.
Vectus, which also works in Haiti, had been hired to help secure mineral revenue and earlier supported Congolese troops around Uvira.
