🚀 The only career advice you need:
The actor Glen Powell auditioned to play Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick.
When the role was given to Miles Teller, Powell was devastated. He was offered a smaller role, but declined.
Tom Cruise summoned Powell to his house and asked him:
“What kind of career do you want?”
Powell responded:
“I want to be like you—an iconic movie star. You always choose great roles.”
Cruise shook his head.
“You’re wrong. I choose great movies, then I make the role great.”
Powell got the message. He accepted the role of Hangman—and nailed it.
Now Powell says:
“It changed the trajectory of my career.”
When young people ask me for career advice, I tell them something similar:
🚀 Attach yourself to a rocketship.
Join companies that are growing quickly. Work with people who are going places. Be part of something great.
Play your role—no matter how minor—exceptionally well.
The rest will take care of itself.
P.S. I don't write engagement bait, so I need your help to spread the word. If you enjoyed this post, would you like, comment, and repost?
@The_Epic_Mike If this was a full price game, then I can understand these criticisms. But it's cheap enough for it to be an interactive novel celebrating music.
It's here! Friday the 13th Revisited, a free fan game for Game Boy Color, is a recreation of the NES classic featuring new gameplay mechanics while staying true to the original.

We lost a legend today. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa @CHTOfficial played Shang Tsung in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film and sadly passed away at age 75. We had the privilege of his portrayal on the first MK film but also as an amazing voice actor in the Mortal Kombat 11 game.
Cary was one of a kind. He combined danger, swagger and athleticism to his roles and will always be remembered as the man who first brought Shang Tsung to life on film.
Rest in Peace. Your soul is eternal.

@PrometheusFilms Quietly retcon the show to take place shortly after Alien 3. It'll make the Maginot timeline make better sense. And preserve Alien as W-Y's first xeno encounter. Plus other minor timeline issues
@FreddyInSpace I agree.I had fun with The Predator. Yeah, I had issues with some elements like the taking DNA from the spines. And the less said about that Iron Man armor ending the better. But I overall enjoyed the movie & fun with it. It tried to be something different and I applaud it.
@ColtonOgburn@madisonbadger00 You can take it however you wish. I'm just making an observation on why violence is seemingly becoming more and more acceptable and what role dehumanizing hyperbolic rhetoric has in it.
