@xanbarksdale ๐ฏ This is the one thing you never hear anyone who posts Baseball drills emphasize either before or after they introduce a drill. its always here is my drill, hit like &subscribe&follow me.The "why" needs to be clear to the player&the coach.
@CoachBeede 1. Travel ball is a scam/money grab. Instead of spending thousands on TB, put it in a savings account, it'll be more than any scholarship.2.If you are paying to go to a showcase, its a fundraiser for them, you gain nothing.3.until they are@least Jrs in HS colleges arent looking
@infantrydort There is an out of print book titled "Shoot the women first", written by a woman about female terrorists circa late 70-80's. The interviews have almost identical details/observations about female terrorists as the Orwell quote above. Its a rather interesting read.
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie Unfortunately, this doesnt fit with how the game unfolds on a play to the 6 hole/SS and the runner on 2nd is headed to 3rd or any variation of that between bases. If anything, your field makes yesterdays call even more valid. Sadly,This isn't a solution
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie I fail to see how your proposed lanes would make any kind of difference or even give the Ump the ability to change the call in question or determine 3'. At least with the runners lane along the first base line you have the runners lane as a reference and why Holiday was ruled out
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie OK, I don't think, wait, I know you havent thought this through, because it makes no sense but further to that, it's impractical to actually do. How about this, draw a picture of how this would look on the field.
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie OK explain where exactly these chalk lines will be on the dirt and how they would have been used in the this situation being discussed.
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie you do recall the part where the basepath is established with thetag attempt? How do you propose they chalk all these lines out so that it covers the entire dirt infield? Do you see the issues here? There isnt a black/white solution to the issue. if there was, it'd be the rule
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie ?? we are talking about the infield dirt, where runners typically run from base to base here. Honest question, have you ever played organized BB?
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie how do you implement this on the dirt infield&in real time calling? How do you account for rounding the base vs straight line from base to base? Let me cut to the chase. If there was a solution for this issue, it would have been found&put into practice already, this is not new.
@CamdenFanatic Base path, not base line. In this case, words have significance to the application of the rule. For some reason, even "experienced or former MLB players" get this wrong all the time.
@shegone03 I know you are trying to be sarcastic but you absolutely can do that, its called a skunk in the outfield play(search it) and its BASE PATH, you&everyone else who doesnt understand the rule(s) are getting this wrong&words have meaning in application of the rules.
@balkwhisperer@theland330 Between this and the Base Path hoopla I have come to the conclusion that all MLB ballparks should have a point during games where they show and read portions of the rule book on the jumbo tron to educate people on the basics of the rules. The world would be a better place4it
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie Not arguing, but you're not seeing the big picture of it. Lets try this. So tell me how you would "fix" or change this so that it was clear cut, black/white determining the correct call?
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie No, its trying to apply a portion of the rule, you have to apply the entire rule. &as long as there are certain plays that are Umps Judgement call, there will be differences from Ump to Ump and circumstance to circumstance, thats why there are judgment calls and not black/white
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie that highlighted clip shows an incomplete understanding of the rule. Who ever made that, found words to support their argument without fully understanding how the rule is applied in its entirety. It is simplytrying to make a portion of the rule the determination to fit theirpoint
@LawrenceBarreca@JaysonLavie My advice to you and others then is to find a new sport/hobby, because there are a lot of Ump judgement calls and plays that are not reviewable in BB. Until viable solutions are found, things wont change when it comes to judgement calls;its not a clear black/white soultion
