Farage blaming โwork from home' for Britainโs troubles is just so lazy, whilst attacking the idea of youngsters seeking a work-life balance. It is predictable and it is boring.
For young men and women in modern Britain, finding their way in life is incredibly difficult. No use people of my age telling them that if they stopped buying cappuccinos, theyโd all be able to afford a home within a few years. Itโs just not true.
Wages are stagnant. House prices are high. Interest is excruciating, on mortgages and student loans.
Everything costs SO much. Rent bleeds them dry, how on earth are they supposed to save 20k for a deposit, if not far more? What, to buy the leasehold on a dingy flat? They donโt even own it, then get done by service charges and whatever else.
Raising a family in Britain is brutally difficult. Childcare is extortionate, so yes - working from home does make that more possible. Good. If British men and women want to have more children, we should be making that as easy as possible.
A lawful relationship between an employee and a private employer is none of our businesses. If they decide working from home is workable, then good for them. If not, thatโs fine too.
From my experience in business, happy workers are good workers. They care. They want the business to succeed. That benefits everyone. A healthy work-life balance is essential. Absolutely essential. Anyone who has run a successful business will tell you that.
Politicians of my age are so far away from what young men and women are dealing with. Of course there are many who take the piss, and we should brutally crack down on them. But the good majority of British men and women want to work hard, contribute to society and build a prosperous life for their family.
If they do that from their desk at home, or one in the office, I really donโt care.
@tomo_w94 @KevinFordham Hang on a minute, you've been arguing your chances have gone up (they haven't, they've definitely gone down if you're committed to getting a ticket) ๐ make your mind up will you.
You don't want commitment/loyalty rewarded now you're available, selfish but I get it ๐๐ป
@tomo_w94 @KevinFordham It's wasn't a closed shop.
I can give you multiple examples of people who went from nothing to loyalty in the last 5 years?
If you didn't have the will to be persistent or time to go watch us away all over the country just say that rather than making things up ๐๐ป
@tomo_w94 @KevinFordham Understandably everyone have an excuse and a reason why they feel they should have access to tickets.
What people are fed up with is "I could never get tickets". It's simply not true.
@tomo_w94 It rewards people who don't understand the link between effort and reward, those who want and expect to have some right to be able to go to the glamorous games And the club flogging memberships.
@tomo_w94 How does the new system give you a better chance? Statistically it gives you the exact same chance, but removes persistence being rewarded...
@tomo_w94 That was 1st Vs 2nd wasn't it? I was there, when they cheered Johnny Howson being stretchered off.
Bit of a loss for you there picking a game 15 years ago when it was a glamour fixture. That's exactly what this lot wants, access to glamour fixtures.
@YCCC33 @Martynho87@apopey "What do you make of that Daniel"
Or
"4000 Leeds fans have been let down by that performance tonight Daniel, do your side owe them an apology".
You can be subtle when telling him it was fucking shite.
